Needed a v8 fix.
Call it a mid-life crisis, or just a deal I couldnt pass up on... I bought a '94 triple black GT convertible. She's really rough around the edges, but mechanically sound.
The good:
Newish top, headers, cat deletes and H-pipe... sounds and runs great. Drives really tight, not loose on the road at all (I was really surprised)
The bad:
Seats are bad, door panels need replacing, top motor is bad - you have to thump it to get it to go up and down... dont like the wheels... needs all four window regulators... paint is not so good either.
---
I did get the car for $1500 so, I am not complaining. Question... are all interior pieces pretty much the same up till '04? That should give me plenty of options to find new seats and door panels, right? I used to have a s197 and still have my old Bullitt wheels from '05 - but know they look goofy without a spacer, so I am looking for someone to swap for some SN95 generation Bullitts..
The car has a lot of pickup on the highway, but seems pretty sluggish at lower rpm's - could it be the lack of backpressure from the headers and cat delets causing a loss of torque, but gains in horsepower, or are the 5.0's just not very stout at idle - 2000 rpm? I kinda figured it would burn the tires a little at take off. (It's an auto)
anyway, looking forward to being back in the mustang community even if my little ride is a 40 footer (for now) :)
