Hello

Hello all,

Just put a hold deposit on a car I've been looking for for a long time! Its a Black 2016 GT Premium Performance Package 401a with leather recaros! The car has 23k miles and we've agreed on a price for 29k. The car was sold in July of 2016 so I'll still have ~18 months of factory bumper to bumper. I'm going out in a week to go pick it up and drive it home. Is there anything I should really look out for when I do my test drive and last inspection before signing the papers?

Thank you,

Chris

Congrats, if it were me I would take a friend along, a second opinion never hurts. Car sales people hate it when there is someone pointing out flaws they are trying to pass over. The photos don't really show much other than its a mustang. As they say get the car fax, at least you'll know of any (reported collisions). I would try to talk with the previous owner, find out what kind of abuse it did or did not get. A car can be an emotional purchase ,if something looks funky walk away. Hope it passes the test and your able to drive that mustang home.

Thank you! I’ll be flying out with my father. Carfax is clean not much posted on it other than general maintence and oil changes. I’ve gotten a lot more pictures but just posted those to make the boys here happy for now. I’ve seen a scratch that They pointed out and they sent it to the body shop to get buffed out and fixed along with anything else that was found. I’ll be sure to give it a good test drive and walk around. Any recommendations on how to find the precious owner?

Looks nice, price seems to be a bit on the high end. Not sure of all the options on it or the true condition. Best of luck, make them deal! :nice:

Just noticed you mentioned flying out over the weekend. Did you drive it home?

I’ll be flying out this Thursday. I originally thought the price was pretty decent but you guys know more about them then I do. :dunno: It’s a premium performance pack 401a with the recaros. Another selling point (to me atleast) is that the warantee is good for 18 months ish. I was looking at one locally, but thy wanted 30.5k, not a 401a and was out of waranty in 8 or so months.

Bottom line is that if you are happy with the price, then that is all that matters. It looks like you found a nice car.

Congrats on you're 2016 GT. As for locating the previous owner is concerned, if the dealership won't provide you the info, your only other option is either by the VIN or vehicle title :dunno:

Not saying it was a bad price, but for the money it should be should be very clean. For me it would need to be like new. But like mentioned above, it really only matters what you think. Pics look like a nice car, and options mentioned are on my required list. Finding a clean, unmolested Mustang is what you are really after. Enjoy! Keep us updated! And most of all have fun and enjoy the ride! :nice:

Thanks for the input guys. I'm getting excited! Will be sure to keep everyone updated. Time to start thinking about what axle back I want.....

Hey guys, finally got it home today! I drove from OKC to Chicago and loved it. Was able to get the price down to 28k so i'm pretty happy with everything.
