The current 2020 Mustang GT 5.0 Coyote engine makes 460 horsepower at 7,000(!) RPM and 460 lb-ft of torque at 4600 RPM. If you were to upgrade to the 2020 Mustang Bullitt 5.0 Coyote, that makes 480 HP, same torque, and same RPMs.
These were grabbed directly from Ford's Mustang Bullitt page, here: https://www.ford.com/cars/mustang/models/bullitt/
Go down to Specifications and you'll see all the model's info there.
You'll want to find a wrecked 2020 and cannibalize it. You'll want to hope it's been wrecked in ways OTHER than the engine.
Now, from what I'm reading... but I can't be an expert in... is the fact that all modular engines, of which both the 4.6L and the 5.0L are, should have the same transmission mounting. With a couple of exceptions here and there. That means that the 4 cam 32v 4.6L Cobra motor's T45 that it came with in '98 should bolt right up as is with the 5.0L. In theory, of course. Here's an article about that: https://www.diyford.com/ford-modular...nd-drivetrain/
BUT... the T45 is not going to survive if you 'play'. https://www.transmissionrepaircostgu...-where-to-buy/
The max torque is 375 lb-ft, and the 5.0 surpasses that quite easily. You'll be replacing the transmission in the car, no question, unless you baby it, and what fun is that?
So, in addition to the engine, you'll also want a wreck that has a good manual transmission, or switch to the automatic (which means different pedals in that Cobra, but really, get a manual.) You will then have to find out what tunnel modifications need to be done (transmission mount, shifter, and perhaps actual metal modifications to fit the transmission and shifter.) And also driveshaft, and hey, we might need to understand what that axle in that Cobra will handle, so...
It's not impossible, of course. But after all I said? Unless you have time, money, tools, knowhow, and above all, patience and engineering, you might just wanna source and get the DOHC 32V Cobra Motor and be done with it. But don't let me stop ya, let your dreams be reality, go for it, it'll be smokin' bad (alternative word for a donkey)!
/There's also maybe getting a 4.6L outta a 2005-2010, that'll pretty much bolt right in, be about the right HP and torque, and that transmission will be fine with it, so... maybe that?
//Of course, it's no longer an actual Cobra without that Cobra motor in it, so... there's that...
