Didn't think we'd be in a game 7 scenario last week. Facing elimination they've really responded. We'll see how tomorrow night goes.

Bring the TV down more to eye level, and throw the center channel above it. Your neck will thank you.

I had planned on that, I had just put the TV there when I screen capped it.

I will have it lower, and the TV centered along the wall, and a small table to set the center channel along with a few other things. I am mainly focusing on placement of the Sectional... There are only a handful of ways to do it, and pretty much the whole setup is dependent on where I put it.

I plan on adding a drop down projector screen to go over the TV in the near future, so I am trying to accommodate doing that. Part of the reason I plan on keeping the center channel under the television set. I'm just worried about making the area feel too packed.

Can you flip the orientation? i.e. put the TV on the wall opposite where it is now? Having your back surround speakers that far away is a bit less than ideal.

Could work, might not be spaced right for it.

That is my other option. I am back and forth between the two.

^this.

Pretty much the only thing I watch on live TV anymore is baseball, and that's more just because it's on while I'm doing other stuff.

It seems like these are my options...

It seems to me like the first will not only be better for a projection system, but also much better for even sound. Speakers are just put in the general area for the sake of the model, obviously not ideal setup. The big downside is it occupies most of the room, but I don't really plan on putting much else there anyway.

I think I like the second one most, and it leaves the most other floor space open.

I definitely liked the openness of the second one, and was my original intention, the downsides of it being the sectional then occupies an extra wall of usable space, and the size of the wall limiting the potential projector screen size.

If you want amazing LFE, and have access to the attic above the room, look into installing an infinite baffle subwoofer

I thought about that. Almost everything is prewired in the attic, and access is easy, but it is probably something I will do later. I'm just buying a decent 5.1 system for now, and will focus on upgrading it as time goes on.

I already plan on doing in wall speakers in the bedroom hooked up to a second zone on my receiver.

Excuse the crappy drawing on the picture, but this shows the wires, everything leads back to the shelving unit back there.
