I know someday you'll have a beautiful life,
I know you'll be a sun in somebody else's sky, but why
Why, why can't it be, can't it be mine

DMB is about the best all around music to describe what I listen to, but I much prefer their live stuff over studio. Its just better IMO.

Peter Frampton - While My Guitar Gently Weeps (definitely top 10 song of mine, even being a cover)

Certain songs shouldn't be covered. No band should cover Hendrix. Just my opinion.

I agree to an extent, especially with JH, but when the cover is done to a degree where it stays true to the original yet is still a progression from its original state its good IMO.

DMB covered it very well. Another Hendrix cover that I love is the SRV version of Little Wing. Pure instrumental, but tells the song perfectly.

I like DMB's version of it. They are so different from each other that it works...

Now I want to listen to some Foxy Lady... and think about Wayne's World!

Well SRV covered hendrix and that is acceptable. But SRV was also a God. It better be by a serious blues guy though. And it should be covered as original as possible. My favorite blues guy does Hey Joe to perfection. But only for live shows. Shouldn't be on albums if not done better than the original. Certain artists I don't like seeing covered.
