Thanks. They've decided instead to take just the polyp out at this point, and if necessary later, will remove the entire canal. It's good news for us because it's a hell of a lot less expensive and invasive. He's old so any surgery that puts him completely under for so long is going to be a risk. This surgery isn't nearly so complicated.

Thanks Darren. They're going to forgo the entire canal removal for the time being and just try to remove the polyp itself. It's less invasive and less risky, and I'm grateful for that.

He has it Monday. Of course the wife goes out of town Tuesday and Wednesday so guess who gets to stay home and watch and listen to him whine and wear that ****ing cone on his head and not be able to do a thing about it for two days? That's ok, I'll scratch on his belly and he'll forget all about that ear.

Flash is doing well. He's in a bit of pain but they pulled the polyp and cauterized the end they couldn't get to so he should be fine now. They're sending it off for analysis. If it comes back as aggressive it will likely grow back and he'd have to have his entire ear canal removed at that point. We're hoping for better news. He's back to his old self for the most part though. Thanks for thinking of him.

Thanks guys. He still has some fluid buildup in it but it's drying out. He should be fine unless it comes back, in which case we get to do this again or remove the canal. Hoping that isn't the case.

speaking of dogs, when you pat a dog on its head, it will wag its tail. What will a goose do?
