Haven't checked heating oil yet... If the distributor filled their tanks at the higher price, we're stuck for several weeks. (It's not a big seller in the NW like it is in the NW)
When I moved in here the tank was empty, so I put in a half tank at $3.44 per gallon. That was the end of August. Six or seven weeks later $2.95 so it's dropping pretty good. Hopefully it continues for a while. One it levels off, i'll order the other half tank. Need to get a couple of cords of wood too. That price probably will stay the same, which is either side of $300 a cord seasoned.

Yours is prob hardwood? Firewood ranges $125 - 150 for rounds here. Depends on gasoline price because cutting areas are about an hour out from town. But its pine though. Starts/burns great but doesn't last as long as hardwood.

Heating wood around here is mostly oak and maple. Other types I think are mixed in, but you won't find pine in it.

It's down to $2.89 here.

We're still higher than the national average, so there is room to drop!

Yeah but that's bad for you

Doesn't oil need to stay above $75 to be profitable for exploration

Depends on the play and area of the country. I think $50 would still be profitable. It is the price of natural gas that is keeping a lot of fields from being profitable. But cheap gas and oil is great for the petrochemical companies - cheap feedstock

I'd give my left nut for 5 years worth of $12 natural gas

What were you and your friend doing? Making cookies is 'code' for a lot of things you know?

I live in a woods and cut, split, and burn my own. I keep the good stuff and give the less desirable wood and smaller limbs to friends for camp/bonfires. Some of it just goes to rot on the ground, but that's good for Spring morel production.

Wow, usually it's a $75 limit. I just use one card and it's one that gives a 5% cash back at gas stations!

I've been offered to go on an awesome road trip out to SEMA with a bunch of other Mustangs. Part of it will follow old Route 66. Florida to Vegas and back with many awesome stops along the way such as the Grand Canyon.

It's just that timing is bad.. I still want to go. Just with my daughter in school and my mom, I don't know how I'm going to pull it off being gone for over a week. I just kind of need the getaway too. :/

That's tough. Sounds like a fun trip though.
