People who call in "sick" knowing (probably) full well about a problem and staff would be short-handed that day.

Why do I do that? Because a previous store manager pointed out they hire youth and some with minor disabilities for the cart round-up. If I do their work for them, they wind up with less hours.

If teens have less hours then they become crack heads and break in my house and steal my stuff. Then I have to shoot them dead. Then I have to be arrested, get a lawyer, and fight for defending my property. Leave the carts. It keeps kids off drugs.
So you're ok with a random cart flying into your door at the grocery store, causing you to have to claim insurance or take it outta your pocket to fix it, all to keep some kid with employed and driving up the cost of our goods?

Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind, I am actually ok with the makework as described... and good on them for hiring someone to do something that many don't like doing, I'll admit.

But is there anything wrong with the cart round up if it's all from the little holding pens versus all over the **** place with potential for car abuse?

*ponders a little more*

Well, to be honest, doesn't prevent a jerk kid who wants to be bad anyway from ramming the car with a cart they retrieved from the pen... so I guess I'll just not go to the store anymore.

/in effect, I guess what I'm saying here is... I. HATE. SAUERKRAUT.
//not really, love the red stuff, and on a hot dog? Glorious.

I hate stupid meetings with bosses. I hate getting dumb feedback. I hate the fact if I did what they asked me to do "talk to more people out side of my area" I would be in trouble for not getting my work done.

I hate that I cant take my glasses off during a meeting and strech without the same boss telling me to not roll my eyes during meetings.

SAFELY is the key word.
A lot of the parking lots around here are on a 10 degree grade.
I've seen people smack them into other cars even on flat lots.
.
I don't say stuff under my breath.
The other week I said in a loud voice, "What's the matter, are you too weak to put that away."
The kid came running back to the store after me.
He stared me right in the eye , but was too stupid (or afraid) to be sure it was me in the crowd.
Then he walked by me and went back out of the store.
By the way, if your put the cart in the corral the kids still have to take the time to get them.

I hate that it's Monday and I have to go to work. Again. What is it with this society anyway?

I hate that it's Monday and I still don't have a work place to go to. What is it with the economy anyway?
