Taxes

Anyone files their taxes yet?
I cashed and deposited my state tax refund today. Probably get the Federal in the next 2 weeks. That money comes just in time to pay for the truck and car insurance for the year.

Received my federal on Monday and my state Friday. Just in time to pay the RZR off! Now time to heat up the credit card for car mods.

Very cool. Do you do them yourselves? I used Turbo Tax again.
You get your Federal before your state? I don't think I ever received my Federal before my state. This year,......the state wasn't accepting claims till February 7th which I found weird. Never had that happen before. :dunno:

I had my tax man do them. I found it really off that I did not receive my state before my fed. I typically get my state taxes first. I filed on January 31st. Hopefully you will get yours back soon. Cha-ching! ;)

HA HAAAA
Yeah,..that is weird. I filed a week after you, so I assume I'll get the Federal within 2 weeks. I wish "CHA CHING". Already spent. lol

Tax man here. Get your stuff to your accountant as early as possible. We don't like it when you wait just as much as you don't like having to wait for your refund.

Crap I need to file my taxes asap but idk who or what to use :( I used H&R block last year but don't want to dish out so much money for so little return :(

Scothew Feb 15, 2014 05:44 PM

Did mine myself. Haven't done state because Alabama didn't have it ready yet so I gotta do that

StangMahn Feb 15, 2014 05:45 PM

do it yourself with like tax act or something

jerseygirl Feb 15, 2014 05:47 PM

Are those programs simple and credible enough for me do myself?

08GTCandyApple Feb 15, 2014 06:05 PM

Filed on Feb 8th. No federal return, owed them $68 and my state return was deposited in my account on the 12th already. With all this snow this year, I'm thinking a plow for the UTV is going to be money well spent. Should have never sold the last one

StangMahn Feb 15, 2014 06:14 PM

they're pretty simple DD. Especially if you don't have much to put on it.

jerseygirl Feb 15, 2014 07:13 PM

David is awesome! The end! :)

I use Turbo Tax and it's pretty simple. They have answers to questions if you get stuck. I've been using them for years. Good luck Diana.

If all you have is W2's and interest from banks,...you're golden. It even saves your info from the previous year to help eliminate mistakes and time spent on filling out the previous year info if nothing has changed. If you had changes,..you can put those in. It's pretty easy.

I only have 2 W2s one from NJ and one from last years job, no interest and nothing else.

Would the insurance paid on a car loan count? Lol

Moustang Feb 16, 2014 12:32 AM

Haven't bothered to file, but I've completed my Federal taxes.

I paid exactly what I owed last year, so I owe nothing and I get nothing back. That's why I haven't bothered to file it yet, not much point in rushing for nothing.

As far as state income taxes goes..... what are those?
