Papa needs a ride in a P-51!!! Hmm I wonder if they'd let me take a pic with my car. I've always wanted to do that.

Jeeze... That's about the amount of fuel that goes into the plane lol.

Thats to expensive for my blood. Jeez.... Probably only costs them $500 for fuel and maintenance for 30min flight.

They say the plane runs solely on donations and the fees for rides, which makes sense. These guys have to make money to keep it running and flying, and they have to get paid too...

I'll pay it when i win the powerball :)

Side Note: I really do have a list of people from all the Mustang Forums i'm on. I'm going to share a little with, when (and if) i win the loto :)

From
http://www.courtesyaircraft.com/Airc...s/P51_prof.htm

Fuel: 65 GPH @ $4.50 per gallon = $292.50/hour
-A quick check shows gas at a little over 6.00/gallon now, so around $400/hour

That's at cruising speed. If they start doing some acrobatics and whatnot, that figure is going to skyrocket. Maintenance on those old warbirds is astronomical, and the insurance for the plane, and for the ability to carry passengers would make you want to cry. Add in the cost of the pilot (and their 6+ months of P-51 specific training), and it's probably about right plus them making a little bit.
