Random Stuff By Hoss 429*
after 14 years of good service the starter of my pinto went out over the weekend .. got it towed home and got a new smaller hi torque version from orielly`s .. put it on and it worked fine except it would keep cranking for about 5 seconds after the engine was running ..i thought it was fitting too tight and i shimmed it many times with no improvement ..since i had built the car i have been running the original ford solenoid mounted on the firewall in conjunction with the chevy solenoid which mounts directly on the starter .. some wiring magic back then made it work just fine .. but this time around it would not work .. i had to do away with the hookup on the ford switch and hook directly onto the chevy starter .. one of those things that make you go " HHHMMMNN "

And I always wondered why the left nut is more valuable than the right nut. Why is it always I'd give my left nut? Or is the left nut less valuable, so that's why they're willing to give it instead of the right?

The left is always considered lesser value.
still battling mice in my shop .. hated that i accidentally caught a couple of my wrens in the process .. who knew a bird would peck on a mouse trap .. anywho last nite i hear one of the traps snap shut .. a few seconds of commotion ensue and then quietness .. but an hour later i wake up to noise again and pop on the shop lite and that silly mouse is not dead yet .. he has dragged the trap half way across the shop .. freaked me a bit .. i go back to sleep and get up this morning to find the beast still kicking .. i get double freaked by this .. i get a pair pliers and pick up the trap and toss it in the garbage rat and all .. it had caught him on the shoulder blade and not his head .. just checked a bit ago and STILL he is kicking .. he is going in the garbage truck tomorrow .. UGH !!! .. i hate meeces to peeces ...

no and i dont want to either
.... on another note the mustang is out of service again .. for the past month or so it had been making a strange noise when i drove it .. i determined today that it was a blown header gasket .. i fixed that and went for a blast and it still made the same noise .. i decided i would find out what it was or break it .. it did ok in first gear but as soon as i hit second the bottom end let loose and the motor seized up .. something came thru the oil pan and all the oil and coolant landed in the street ..i dont know if i will ever fix it again .. no job .. no future .. and a dying interest in hot rodding in general ..

thanks .. yeah , i should have phrased the question a bit different but your answer fits the bill exactly .. especially the anxiety/panic attack and anger part .. ...
well the day has come that i had thought would never come .. i have sold the pinto / mustang and the ford truck and all the tools associated with building cars . i had been losing interest in hot rodding for the last few years and blowing the engine in the stang recently just sealed the deal .. i had no desire to fix it .. i know the fellow who bought all my stuff will never do anything with it .. he will park the stang and just let people look at it ..the truck will rot away .. i dont know what he will do with the pinto ...
