Dad had a 64 2 door hardtop, 390 police interceptor, 4 speed solid lifter and 3 deuces. A darker blue than that one.

there is one of those coming up ... sometime in 73 i guess i got tired of fighting the gas crisis and driving a gas guzzler 428 barge a friend offered me a 65 mustang with a 6 banger and a three speed for my 64 and i took him up on it .. i remember driving it to school in the wintertime .. my father also drove this car to church on Sundays as he had a volkswagon buss he drove to work ,, the buss was a 4 speed and somehow my father broke the 3 speed trans in my mustang .. i patched it up with a falcon 3 speed tranny and a foxcraft shifter but it never did work very well .. i guess Dad felt bad about breaking my stang so one day he brought home a 69 Galixie 500 XL exactly like the one pictured .. i dont remember what became of the mustang .. a month after i traded the 64 off i got a letter in the mail from a wrecker service telling me that if i wanted the car back i needed to bring them 45 $ for wrecker service and storage ..i ignored the letter .. 45 $ for a 64 ford with a 428 police interceptor motor .. would you give that today ?

my senior year of high school i had the 69 XL my dad bought after breaking my mustang .. he got it cheap cause it had a somewhat bad engine in it even though it was only a 5 year old car .. sometime during that year the mustang went away and another 64 ford galixie showed up .. i think the same older brother who let me have the first 64 traded my stang for the second one .. so when i wasn`t driving the XL i was driving a 64 ford with a 406 six pac and 4 speed .... also sometime in 74 i managed to scrape up 35 $ to buy a ex drag racing 55 ford from a friend of mine ..it was set up for a chevy engine so i traded my brothers 64 ford for a 327 engine that i never did put in .. the brother was married now and was not too upset i got rid of his car .. i dont remember what became of the 55 ford ..dont remember the red stang or the 55 ford ,, i might have started drinking in 74 ,, HA !

after i had graduated high school i got a job at a plating company and i know that is the time i acquired a 69 A12 super bee .. i drove it to work and drove it into tennessee to see a girl i was interested in ,,i was not working at the junkyard but had friends there who were and i spent nearly every moment there when i was not at my job ,, anyway a few months after the great tornado outbreak of April 3rd 1974 a wrecked super bee came in the yard .. it had been blown againts a building and the passengers side was all crumpled up .. ,, i got it for 250 $ and that included the door and fender from another car .. i beat out the quarter panel as best i could and slabbed on a gallon of bondo and rattle canned it flat black .. when i was going one side was tan when i went the other way i was flat black.. i raced a few people in i but never beat anyone .. i`ve never claimed to be a good racer ,, most times when i got beat we would swap vehicles and i would still get beat ..showing out for some friends at the local hangout one time i hit full throttle in 3rd gear and lost control ,, i wound up in a big ditch with all 4 wheels off the ground ,, later i broke the trans and just gave it back to the junkyard ,,

later in 74 i was still working at the plating company and going by the junkyard every day .. one day there was 2 new wrecked 69 mustangs there .. one a 351 4 speed green car with a wrecked passenger quarter panel and another blue 428 R code with a bent front end .. i knew i could not fix the quarter panel but i could replace sheet metal so i bought the r code .. found the same color fender and hood and bolted them on and drove it away .. though it only had 67 thousand miles on it for some reason i felt it needed an engine overhaul .. i upgraded some internal parts and added headers and thought i had a bad car ,, still i got outrun by a fellow in a 440 Challenger .. still was not good at racing .. later i sold it to a friend for 800 $ .. he later took the motor and trans out and put in a 6 banger ,, i wound back up with the motor but did not keep it ,,sold it to a future member of the rocket city mustang club .. we talked about that 30 years later ..he still has pieces of that motor ..

a brief pause from story time .. i may have mentioned that i finally have found a 5 speed trans to go in my pinto but i can not find the pedals .. i bought a set off ebay for a ford ranger truck and with a little bending cutting and welding i will make them work .. i dont want to cut my original in case i cant make the 5 speed work .. it is a hydraulic clutch type trans but i believe i can make a cable work by pulling from the back side .. the brake pedal wont be that hard to modify but the clutch pedal will need a whole makeover and figuring out how get the throw close for the cable leverage .. i think it is about a 4 to 1 ratio .. 12 inches of pedal below the pivot point and 3 inches above .. i have a picture of stock pinto pedals to go by ..

75 and 76 are a bit of a blur to me but i do remember a car i had for a minute .. a friend of one of my older brothers had a 63 Fairlane Sports coupe when i was in the 8th grade and i remember seeing him come and get my brother in car from time to time in 68 or 69 .. one day i found out that the fairlane was for sale for 75 $ minus engine and 4 speed trans and some how i had the money in my pocket .. i got the car and another friend had a skeeter ( a chopped down buggy of a thing ) with a 289 and a 4 speed trans .. i traded him something for it and put the drivetrain in the fairlane and drove it for a month or so and sold it for 150 $ .. HA !! doubled my money ,,

Looks Like a 1970 Mercury Montego.

Here are Some Examples. As the Owner of Numerous Fords & Mopars of That Era Back in the Day It's Looking Ford From the One Shot. Dirt Covers Quarter Panel ID!

Now Maybe 73 or 74 Mopar B-Body As You Said!

BUT!

Taillight Panel Shot Would Be Great! Gotta Get Some More Shots Now it will Drive Me Crazy!

my first thought was that it was some kind of AMC like maybe a Rebel Machine or an SST but the quarter glass does`nt match good enuff .. it may turn out to be some kind of HEMI powered something that might be worth a mint put back together .. i remember lots of stolen and stripped muscle cars found in a wooded area in south TENN just a few miles from me ..
