yes but i still could not leave it alone .. i dont like shinny stuff so i painted the grill and most of the bumper and some of the hood black .. added black graphics on the side .. i dont hvae a recent picture but the wheels are also blacked out now ... this has been an amazing vehicle for what i have in it ..the check engine lite stays on and i bought a code reader and played with it for a few months changing every sending unit and sensor associated with the timing chain ,, these 3.6 engines are notorious for having stretched timing chains and setting off the check engine lite .. it runs fine so i just put a piece of tape over the lite and that was 15 thousand miles ago

The following is the philosophy of Charles Schulz, the creator of the 'Peanuts' comic strip:
"Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
Name the last five Heisman trophy winners.
Name the last five winners of the Miss America pageant.
Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
Name the last half dozen Academy Award winners for best actor and actress.
Name the last decade's worth of World Series winners.
How did you do?
The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday.
These are no second-rate achievers.
They are the best in their fields.
But the applause dies.
Awards tarnish ...
Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners.
Here's another quiz.
See how you do on this one:
List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
Name five people who have taught you something worthwhile.
Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
Think of five people you enjoy spending time with.
Easier?
The lesson:
The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money ... or the most awards. They simply are the ones who care the most."
Ain’t that the truth!

i dont consider myself a dumpster diver but i will stop at the occasional tempting looking pile of roadside rubbish ..every piece of furniture in my home has come from the side of the highway .. if a piece of something is made of good wood and not that cheap particle board crap i will usually pick it up .. sometimes i have to fix a hinge or repair a broken something but i can do that ..i paint everything black .. i also will not pass up a vacuum cleaner as i have fixed several over the past 5 years or so .. they usually are just stopped up in the hose or the belt has burned off due to the rotor brush being stuck with carpet string ,, i give them to the local rescue mission to do with as they please ..

Very Nice Finds!
I Live on the Road a Lot of Folks Use To Go to The Dump and Have Found Some Goodies over The Years That Fell Out of The Truck and Were Left For Dead! Some Chests of Drawers and Shelving Which I Used in the Garage! Nothing as Nice as Yours. Got Lots of Vacuums as The Wife Would Get Them at Random After Being Hypnotized By The Tv Shopping Channel! Aye Carumba! I Have repaired Many of Those Older Units and Resold. Latest Find Was A Grille Emblem off a Peterbilt Which When Checked on Ebay Should Bring About $75.00! Love Using What I got To Make Things! More Fun Than Way!

after WW2 my father spent the next 30 or so years working at a stove manufacturing company in Huntsville .. i worked there for a minute and several brothers worked there as well .. my Father retired in 1976 and the company shut down the Huntsville plant not long after .. my Father was the shipping and receiving supervisor .. after sitting empty for nearly 40 years a group of people purchased the property and renovated a lot of it into various other businesses .. while going thru my Fathers old empty office they found several pictures of him and other information related to him ..a business that wanted to start up in his old office area decided to name their business after him .. i dont know if they made any effort to contact any family members about this as i had no idea it was happening .. but none of us have or would have objected to them using his name and image .. all my family members who are still living have been by .. they took pictures of me to hang on the walls when i went by .. he is probably about 30 in this photo ..

i have been feeding birds forever and it just tickles me to death to finally have one come and eat out of my hand .. i had a mockingbird a few years ago that would come near but i could not touch it .. i now have a nuthatch that will land on my hand and get a nut .. it is to fast for me to get a picture of it on my hand // it will let me know when it wants fed or just sometimes i am outside it will come near and i will run get it a peanut ..i understand nuthatches are somewhat people tolerant ..

If Ford would build an Explorer R with a coyote I'd buy it tomorrow.

even after having bought the Suzuki i still wanted another Corolla ,, i looked at several junkers and clunkers but thankfully did not bite on them . i just missed a pristine blue 09 model by a few minutes on craigslist .. i drove up to the toyota dealer one day to see what they may have had and they had an 2010 sitting on the lot for 8 grand .. i said if it does not make any engine noise when it starts i will take it .. this thing is quite amazing .. you would never believe it has 170 thousand miles on it .. it looks like it has less than 10 grand .. i have got to believe that the original owners were old folks that only drove it to church once a week and it was down hill both ways .. the Suzuki has been such a good vehicle that the corolla just sits as a backup car .. iv`e had it a year and a half and not not yet run a tank full of gas thru it ..i finally have a 5 speed trans for the pinto but i cant find a set of clutch pedals to change it over ,, there is a set on evilbay but the seller wants more than i gave for the whole car 25 years ago .. if it comes to it i will make the pedals i need ..

at one time or another i have told of just about every car i have ever owned ,, a while back i went on a google hunt and found likenesses of just about all of them .. i will post them here in succession as best i can remember of when i had them .. i inherited a 64 ford from an older brother when i was still in high school .. oddly enough i drove 4 different cars in 2 years between 73 and 74 .. how does one do that when never have had a job ? ,, i dint even have a drivers license ,, but the first 64 i drove similar to this one and had a 428 police interceptor engine .. when my brother gave me the car it had a blowed up 390 and i had a friends garage install the 428 .. i dint know much about cars at 17 years old .. i forgot to pay my friend and he sicked a collection agency on me .. somehow i payed it off and used them later when i built my R code 69 stang .. it comes later ..
