You know, Prince was basically his own genre of music. You have rock, country, jazz, r&b, etc. that all fit into their type of music and that's where they stay, then you have Prince. The guy was an absolute musical genius that broke all cultural boundaries.

TBH, it really tore me up when I found out he died. His art really was intertwined into my life for many years, no matter how much I changed and different phases I went through, his music was always there in some fashion or other.

Went and drove past Paisley Park. Hundreds and hundreds of purple balloons. Really incredible sight to see.

I'm sure being a Minnesotan makes that whole thing that much harder to cope with.

Ya, it's kinda crazy. Minnesotans are obsessed with anything and everything related to Minnesota and he was one of the few major stars to come from here. Everyone says, "he was ours." At pretty much every concert I've been to, someone always mentions Prince. Last summer Kelly Clarkson sang Purple Rain and knocked it out of the park. Tons of people seemed to know him but he was so elusive. Everywhere you went you were always hoping in the back of your mind you might get to catch a glimpse of him somewhere.

Ok so the other day a lady from South Carolina informed me that I say the word pecan wrong. So let's see where my fellow Mustang members weigh in on this.
Here's how I was taught to say it --- Pee-kahn
Here's how she said it --- pick-en
Now I honestly have never heard it pronounced (as she claimed) ever in my life like that! And yes I've been to 47 states over my years and have heard a lot of different pronunciations of things.

I use several different pronunciations of it depending on what I'm talking about (probably not normal in Ga. since we're one of the top producing states of them) I'll say "get some pee cans when you go to the store".

If I'm talking about making pecan pancakes for supper I call them "puh kahn" pancakes.

If I'm lit up and at the Waffle House I'll order a "pee kahn" waffle.

I just realized about 5 minutes ago that Claire Underwood ( House of Cards) and Jenny the ***** from Forrest Gump was the same person (Robin Wright). As much as I love Forrest Gump and as may times I've watched it (hundreds) and as much as I love House of Cards I never noticed it until I just turned on FG on Netflix and saw Robin Wright in the credits at the beginning.

Dude

If you haven't seen House of Cards, you need to fire up the Netflix and do some binge watching, it is excellent. Probably the best work Kevin Spacey has ever done.

Puh-kahn or Peecan here. That lady is an idiot. I've been all over the lower 48 myself. Never heard that in my life.
