Hey guys, do you ever get texts which inform you that your credit card is hold, or that your SS benefits will not be received, or your long lost relative is in jail?

Well, I just received a new text:

USPS: Your package will be returned due to missing address details. Please update the address in time: m.jgppm.uspsdi.site

In an effort to keep it safe, you must update your address within 24 hours or your package will be returned to the seller.

WOW! I said to myself, you don't want to miss your VIP package so you better reply pronto, Georgy Boy! So, I did.

Appearances can be deceiving

Recently on a routine police patrol parked outside a local neighborhood bar the officer noticed a man leaving the bar so intoxicated that he could barely walk. The man stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes with the officer quietly observing.

After what seemed an eternity and trying his keys on five different vehicles, the man managed to find his own car which he fell into. He was there for a few minutes as a number of other patrons left the bar and drove off.

Finally he started the car, switched the wipers on and off (it was a dry night), flicked the hazard flasher on and off, tooted the horn, and then switched on the lights. He moved the vehicle forward a few inches, reversed a little, and then remained stationary for a few more minutes as more patrons left in their vehicles. At last he pulled out of the parking lot and started to drive slowly down the street.

The police officer, having patiently waited all this time, now started up his patrol car, put on the flashing lights, promptly pulled the man over and carried out a breathalyzer test. To his amazement, the breathalyzer indicated no evidence of the man having consumed alcohol at all!

Dumbfounded, the officer said, "I'll have to ask you to accompany me to the Police Station. This breathalyzer equipment must be broken."

"I doubt it," said the man, "Tonight, I'm the designated decoy."

 

Unfortunately my e/mails commonly have these 'package' threats. I was thinking of responding with some funny stuff but they may keep passing a valid e/mail to other scammers and there is no need for that in my life. They just get deleted.
My late 80+ year old friend received one of those "your grandson is in jail and needs bail $$" phone calls and almost fell for it. He told me about it very worried, and I told him to call all his relatives to rest assured that the call was bogus. Of course it was bogus, but the elderly are so susceptible to this stuff. I don't know what happens to the mind at this older age but it is so sad. My friend was a major in the army when he retired and rather sharp otherwise.

 

Don't forget the ones that ask for the SS# 000-00-0000.

Losers who attempt gimmicks with intent to fleece are not likely to be well off, probably never got beyond junior high school but it is a humorous site when they pretend to be or sound as if they are intelligent. They can't associate tel #s to names, addresses, personal info, or even specific towns or cities by the tel #s area codes. They go fishing but wind up with a shot in the dark.

A while back my wife answered her cellphone and got into a back and forth with a guy with a very heavy accent (probably Swahili) who wanted $5K or she would be arrested. TAKE MY WIFE PLEASE!

She made fun of his accent, corrected his grammar, and frustrated the hell out of him for what it seemed to be an eternity. She was laughing he was fuming, mainly because of feeling offended and being made fun of. Eventually HE hanged up on her (imagine that). So rude! He never even follow up with another call.

Such inept business practices.

I got a text like that this morning. For a UPS package, wanted me to update my zip code.

 

I was going to ask you for your address then I thought about it for a while and I figured I just might get a taste of my own medicine. So... nevermind!

 

I knew it was a scam, I had no packages coming. My generic Viagra, Balance of Nature fruit and veggie capsules, Relaxium sleep, Relief Factor, My Pillows and Lear capital gold and silver all came last week.
