Lalo, that was an awesome story.

I met a few friends for lunch at a sushi place i'd never been to. It was great!! Had something i'd never seen or heard of before. It was called the hurricane roll. Heres the description "Crawfish, cream cheese, crabstick, hot & sweet sauce" But they dont list that its deep fried in a tempura batter. It was really good. We went to http://www.sekisuiusa.com/newsekisui/

It was not meant to be,the old man didn't want Mexican today, go figure. I did have a fried, chicken ranch sandwich with extra crispy fries, dipped in honey mustard dressing. I finished it off with a Little Debbie star crunch. I'm stuffed!

No banana split here, but that does sound good! I'm cooking a trimmed brisket in the oven, like a roast, and I've put some carrots, potatoes and onions in with it. The carrots are from our garden.

Yum! I made a brisket yesterday, but in the crock pot w/ liquid smoke. Used the leftovers to make shredded beef bbq tonight and home made mac & cheese. You must live someplace warm if you have carrots from your garden.

I've never had brisket cooked in a crockpot with liquid smoke. I bet it was good.
We live south of Houston, so yes, it's usually warm here. The carrots were great! You just can't beat homegrown veggies! Can't wait for the tomatoes and cucumbers to grow, they are the best.
Tonight it's leftovers, and for some reason, they usually taste better.

We always smoke brisket, but someone told me that they cooked them in the oven, like a roast, so I tried it that way, and it was pretty good. On the pit, we use a brisket with all of the fat on it, but a trimmed brisket for oven roasting. We've ground up brisket to use as ground beef (hamburger meat) before, and it was great. (you can control the fat content of the ground beef, and it had a nice texture)
Now I'm craving BBQ with potato salad and beans!
