2005Stang,

How did you get conned out of 3k? Because if they said they would sell you something and didn't, I'm pretty sure that is fraud. And if it's fraud, it's a police matter.

If you rightfully won the item or have any documentation showing that you won the item in a second chance offering, get it all together and call your police department to find out what the next step is.

Maybe some of the officers on this site might be able to point you in the right direction as well.

Sorry to hear about this!

There is a consumer protection law not well known that may help you guys' had to find in some libraries.
Chapter 93a in the Annotated Uniform Commercial Codes there is a provision which you can receive up to 3x the ammount in damages and costs for fraud and deception.
Nice thing about this law is you can do it yourself. no lawyer to pay.
Simple as this: You issue a 30 day letter to offender that in accordance to Chapter 93a
of the Uniform Commercial Codes you are seeking remedy for the following grievances, state your case of fraud and deception clearly and explain to them that under this law they have 30 days to comply and rectify or you will seek 3x the amount in damages,(all costs incurred)
You then file this letter with your local clerk of courts (they will be surprised for no-one really knows about it)to get a case #, then send to offender registered mail or have constable or yourself hand deliver.
Here's the bummer... you have 10 days to do this so if you can get a written response of some sort and get it done using that date.
Egghead will blow it off, you go to court, just read letter to judge and he's screwed for 3x in damages.
i've done it 5x and worked esch time, all internet related business
