Early snow in western NC

Here in western NC we rarely get snowfall this early. The higher 5,000' elevations get snow but not down at the lower levels.
Woke up to 24 degrees and snow on our Fall decor. Second photo is from our deck looking out at those higher mountains.

We had sub-freezing temps yesterday morning, but snow is VERY rare in Texas near Dallas.
