If You’ve Ever Needed a Reminder to Get an Oil Change, This Is It. Check Out This Disgusting Filter!
We all know the adage that changing your oil should be performed regularly. This keeps your engine running smoothly and prevents massive damage to those moving parts. Apparently this lady never learned the adage.
The woman in question brought her 2006 Hyundai Sonata to her local mechanic. Her mechanic, Brian, discovered what has to be the most gnarly, sludged-out oil filter ever. So he took to YouTube to show you what her oil filter looked after so many miles of neglect.

As you can see in the video above, the oil has turned to thick, murky sludge. The filter has gone almost 50,000 miles between oil changes! With conventional oil, you’ll hear recommended intervals of 3,000 to 5,000 miles. If you’re running synthetic, you can probably go between 7,500, and all the way up to 15,000 miles in some cases.
The lady complained of her car running poorly. Obviously, an ace mechanic like Brian figured out the problem in no time.
The moral of this story: take care of your car. And always change your oil!
