Would You Classify the Viper as an Exotic?
I'm just bored and curious at the same time. Do you guys think the Viper categorizes as a Sports/Performance/Muscle Car or an Exotic?
I'd say it's right on the line between Muscle and Exotic being it is, for example, right between the Corvette(Sports) and Ford GT(Exotic).
What are your thoughts?

Needs to be more Astony
Seems like an exotic to me. But then again there are some people that use them as daily drivers... so i think it would just be a sports car.
and for a fun fact the world record holder for fastest street car with a 6 speed manual running 7.98 in the quarter mile at over 180mph.

The performance is close to exotic territory and so is the price and exclusitivity, but all fall a bit short of the mark, although that certainly isnt a swipe at the car. I'd take one!

And for the record, I'd give anything to own one!! I've wanted one since sixth-grade and my love of the car has never died!

I too think its between a sports and a exotic. The newer ones not so much but the previous Gen. because of radical styling, the introduction of a purpose built V-10, and its kindof a exclusive machine even if it has a dodge badge. Id certainly like to have one for a toy could I pay for it.

Exotic - because it is in the same performance category, grabs about as much attention in traffic, and not as common as Corvettes or 911s. I heard parts replacement can go into "exotic territory" as well.

If memory serves, the hood is over $2k. I don't think the Viper grabs the attention it used to. Around here, and even more so in other parts of the Country, they're not so uncommon.

Domestic exotic....cause its not a muscle car... not enough seats....not a sports car....too, much power...
But because of its voluptious styling....V10....price....and status symbolism....I'd say its more exotic that any of the other options

To me, the word "exotic" means first of all "foreign". Webster's dictionary also defines it as "different":
Well... you decide.
Main Entry: 1ex·ot·ic
Pronunciation: ig-'zä-tik
Function: adjective
Etymology: Latin exoticus, from Greek exOtikos, from exO
1 : introduced from another country : not native to the place where found <exotic plants>
2 archaic : FOREIGN, ALIEN
3 : strikingly, excitingly, or mysteriously different or unusual <exotic flavors>
4 : of or relating to striptease <exotic dancing>
- ex·ot·i·cal·ly /-ti-k(&-)lE/ adverb
- ex·ot·ic·ness /-tik-n&s/ noun
