Rumor mill..Dodge to bring Cuda back! Update

If they do it with as much styling and care they did the Chally I'll be one happy chappy...providing this more than just a rumor.

I've prob mentioned this before, but growing up in St. Louis I don't remember any Challengers.
It was all CUDA!!

Talking

All they can afford to do is restyle the same car AGAIN.
Charger, Challenger, Cuda. It's all the same car.
One of my old friends has a real Barracuda.
Without Plymouth it can't be real.

*now with 'read the article' goodness!*

Ok, firstly, it sounds like a pipe dream. Again.

1) The 'Cuda is a Plymouth name.
2) The 'Cuda, or Barricuda, as a Dodge name would be... not good.
3) There's no point, when the Challenger is still there. Unless it was perhaps used as a Chrysler product... and that's just messed up.

All the hankering in the world won't make it right.

But then, that's just me. The Charger still, to this day, has two too many doors, for example.

/I like the renderings!

Nah I skanked them from a ...hmm I think it was a Toyota concept. I just made the centers black and altered the dish on them (made em deeper)

Thanks Charlie

Doesn't seem to be any point unless they:

a.) discontinue the Challenger

b.) base the new 'cuda on a different platform thus making it not just a badge-engineered effort. Maybe lighter and leaner?

c.) perhaps make it a premium trim level of sorts. For example, offer the Challenger SE and R/T and then make the 'cuda (still based on the current Challenger platform) the top-dog, high-performance GT-500/Z-28 slayer sporting unique 'cuda front and rear fascias along with other stylistic cues and badging.

This actually would do.

Challenger SRT-10 concept, same 8.4L V10 600 hp engine from Viper.

I agree! That would do nicely for a 'Cuda!

Along with the body/trim differences, IMO any "Chrysler 'Cuda" would need to have "Super HEMI" and/or Viper V10 engines to differentiate it from the Challenger. A sharper, more track-focused handling dynamic would be a given.
