"New" crossover from Chevy

http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/06/c...da-superfecta/

As the fourth Lambda-platform crossover from General Motors, the basics have been introduced already in the GMC Acadia, Saturn Outlook and Buick Enclave. The Traverse is a roomy seven (or eight)-passenger crossover with a well-organized cockpit, whose details differ only slightly from its platform sibs. That's been GM's M.O. thus far, so why should the Traverse be any different? Power, like the other Lambdas, comes from the 3.6L V6, which makes 281 or 286 horsepower in the Bowtie version depending on whether the vehicle is equipped with a single or dual exhaust.

Well, considering the Edge nearly outsold all the other Lame-das on its lonesome, perhaps the General believes a fourth will help preserve its lead.

What a stupid idea. One thing GM (and Ford with Mercury) needs to do is to stop badge engineering on these f*cking SUVs! Have they not gotten the memo from the world yet? SUVs aren't selling in droves anymore, and they certainly don't need four variations of the exact same vehicle!

I guess the Pontiac version will be announced next.

I also laugh at how they CALL these things crossovers - as if people will be somehow fooled - when they're as big as SUVs EVER were.

I guess as long as they dont look "blocky"...like an explorer, suburban, expedition it is a crossover...?

Sales of Tahoe/Suburban, Yukon and Escalade are still pretty high.

Pretty much every crossover on the market is as same size as SUV.

I guess they think that by calling them crossovers they can fool the public into believing that they're buying smaller, more "economical" vehicles. :rofl2:

Looks like it's working.

I think it looks pretty good. But,what would make someone choose one over the other three, they are very similar.

Well... there is at least one true Chevy crossover in the world, the Chevrolet (born Daewoo) Captiva: http://www.chevrolet.co.uk/captiva/captiva-index.html
