A beaut of a car to be sure, but Ill bet it doesnt perform any better than the 2007 GT500 will, save a mph or two on the slalom.

Agreed! I'd take a DB9 over any mustang hands down!
The DB9 in my eyes has more style in it's indicators than the GT500 has in the entire car.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh maaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnn that is one sexy beast

Ha, dont get me wrong guys, I never said I'de prefer the stang. However, it is my opinion that a $120k near-exotic should out perform a sub $40k pony car in both the style/"soul" and "mere number" departments.
I will never own an AM, but I'd be willing to bet DB9 owners will have a hard time appreciating their cars intangible qualities after running into a lowly cobra, vette, supra TT, RX-7, VR-4, LS1 f-body, or--God forbid-- a turboed civic hatch.
Ignore this digression if you will, but those hatchback civics are a personal pet peeve of mine. They weigh just over a ton and the owners stress their engines to the breaking point with 1 bar of boost until their 1.6 liter four bangers blow up. But by that time they have already ran 12.5 second 1/4s and think theyre cars are God's own because they can beat real cars from a stop.

I agree that strictly performance alone, the DB9 isnt the king of the world, but a mid 4 second 0-60 isnt bad. Something you get with a AM and not with a ford is the quality. The amazing leather, gorgeous and perfect fit and finish interior. There is no plastic that will eventually become rattle traps, its all hand done to the highest standard you can imagine and then some.
Its a driving car, not a race car. For someone who completely enjoys the driving experience as a whole, that is what this car is designed to do. The cobra is an all out brute of a car and is amazing in its own right. They are both great, but its a different type of person that will own either of the respected cars.
