I bought ANOTHER Beater!!! hahahaha

Ok, don't laugh too hard. :)

I sold the Prism (Precious) because I needed more room, and to be honest, this was in much better shape. I bought it from someone I know very well, so he had a packet 30 pages thick (at least) that has every service/fix/maintenance he had done since 1999.

It's a 1998 Honda CRV EX! 128k miles, and the seats were never sat in (seat covers from day 1). He was 2nd owner from a lady who owned it for a year. Everything in it is functional except for the radio which I will get fixed/replaced. It also has a rattle in the rear glass window which I will fix with felt in the latch. It has minor rust in the rear right fender - which is nothing for an 18 year old car. It has some small oil leak, but again, common for 18 years.

Other than that, she runs awesome. Interior is in great shape... I can haul the kids and their sports gear with no issues, and not worry about parking in Timbuktu to avoid door dings. I'm stoked to be in a Honda again :) Quincy gets to stay new, low miles, and saved only for family big trips.

Everyone, meet Chloe. (my son named her this time :D) pardon the dirty windows, but it was frosty this morning

edit: another thing I love about it, it's AWD for winters!!!

So, I spent the weekend to do some clean up on here.

First I detailed the interior, and even used swabs to get to every crevice - etc.

So this is the final result after intense vacuuming and 303 Protectant.

Then I took the time to polish up the driver side headlight - 18 years of yellowing/oxidation.

Current state:

Then I went with a yellow pad, Flex buffer (started out with PC, but it's too weak and stops rotating), and Menzerna Power Gloss.

Here's the results after 1 stage of polishing:

Then I went with a gray pad, then 2 bouts of CG V36 then V38 polish.

And here's the final result, after I also sealed it with Blackfire.

edit: if you want, I can post this as a separate thread in the Detailing section for those of you who want to know how I did it.

........

After I did that, I tried to address the rust on the rear right fender - used new Rustoleum primer/paint in one. Then I have to reattach the plastic fender guard.

...........

And finally, here's the BENEFITS of driving a beater. I dropped the kids off today, and parked in an empty spot (empty on both sides). Then I come out after 5 minutes and am greeted with THIS. Some people, I swear. No care in the world. To think, my new Infiniti could have easily been dinged.
