Somehow I don't see it being released. GM needs to really focus on other more important matters right now, predominantly their entry model cars and reliabilty. But then again with Lutz the Klutz at the helm one never knows
Overall its certainly a neat idea, just the timing isn't right at the moment.

But with the good news, there is always bad: the Super Vette might not appear until late 2006, or 2007, as development of the Blue Devil isnt at the top of GMs priorities list. Instead, the company is currently focusing on engineering profit-generating pickup trucks and sport utilities, while reworking its car lineup to make it more competitive with the Japanese. In any case, the Blue Devil seems to be more of a when question, rather than if.

That's why this disclaimer is in the article:

This way it will be just in time to take over the market that the Ford GT will be leaving.

Ahh... Thank you Mark. I noticed the part about the possibility of 2006 or 2007 but not the sentence after. I have to "skim" some articles at work.
Don't worry, by that time Ford will have something else up their sleeve. Don't forget about the Shelby Cobra too. According to Mustang Weekly development is looking good.

Uuummmm...still a plastic Impala, but on the other hand the only (current) GM product I would ever consider owning.

Just a generic term, you know

Personally I find it incredibly sexy. Looks great, lots of power, and most of all, I think they picked an excellent name for it. I say this rarely, but kudos to GM.
Now grow a pair and make it!

Granted, it's going to be very fast, but it doesn't have any special aura about it like almost all other exotic supercars. If this were parked next to a Ford GT which one do you think would draw the most looks.
And I'm sorry, but that name sounds pretty adolescent to me.

If you're talking about Shelby Mustang (I think that's only Shelby that will be on the market in 2007), GM already have car for competition - Buick Regal Gran National GNX. 3.6L V6 twin turbo 450 hp.

That's not a real GM concept. It's the result of a design contest that had nothing to do with Buick or GM. It's photoshopped from a GTO pic.
