So is it still going to be the most expensive (1.25mil) and fastest (253mph) production car ever built?
There has been some set backs. I would really like to see this car go into production.

I think it's coming out next year isnt it? And as for the speed, I think they had gotten it to a 280mph top but then they changed it a bit to "make it more practical" at 250ish. Crazy

Lalo and Scott, Bugatti is ready to deliver its first Veyron to a customer in the U.S. sometime in October . After all the problems and numerous setbacks, the customer cars are being built as we speak. With only 50 made per year for, I believe, 6 years (or 8, not sure), and being I live in southeast Pennsylvania, my chance of seeing one of these amazing cars is slim to none . My hope it that there will be one at next years New York Auto Show. I'd like to add a shapshot to my automobile picture album . THis car makes the Mclaren F1 look tame in comparison, from all the reveiws from various auto magazines. WHAT A CAR .

I am still not a fan of these cars. 1000hp is insane, but so is the price tag. As for it making the McLaren F1 look tame, you would hope it would, technology has moved on a heck of a lot in 12 years!

WOW!!!! Amazing! I'm not to keen on the grill but it will grow on me.
That is a gorgeous car and the power is insane. Wonder what the maintenance cost would be?

About the mantinence, I heard the warranty is only 2 years, or 31,000 miles, whichever occurs first. I figured for $1.2M, you should get something longer than 2 years, .

As far as the warranty goes, i guess you get what you pay for . And i couldn't see the gas being an issue as i boubt any one of those cars will ever rack more than a couple thousand miles a year.

I'm not sure if a Hennessey Viper counts as a production car, but it looks like the Veyron's been unseated already. The new Venom tt Coupe has 1000hp and hits 255mph, beating the Bugatti's 253 (and undercutting it by about $1 million). It was a short reign at the top, i hope they enjoyed it. Nothing beats domestic iron! As long as you're going in a straight line...

I don't think the Hennessey Viper would count, as it is a tuner car. The title is for factory production car, or basically bone stock. Even though that Viper sounds wicked, Hennessey is such a crook, I wouldn't give him the time of day. His name is Persona Non Grata on most of the Viper forums. They all dispise him.
