You're killin' me tonight with these car posts!! :nice: HAHAHAHA . . .

Automotive Art . . .but you know . .I'd take a V8 Vantage over it, even though it is a wonderful automobile.

burningman Oct 17, 2005 08:06 PM

same here mate!

Zc527 Oct 17, 2005 08:06 PM

I'll take it!

ScottyBoy302 Oct 17, 2005 10:56 PM

Ya, as much as i like the styling of an Aston i don't think i'd be able to live with myself if i turned down 1000hp.

Lalo Oct 18, 2005 07:37 AM

So is it still going to be the most expensive (1.25mil) and fastest (253mph) production car ever built?
There has been some set backs. I would really like to see this car go into production.

ScottyBoy302 Oct 18, 2005 10:08 AM

I think it's coming out next year isnt it? And as for the speed, I think they had gotten it to a 280mph top but then they changed it a bit to "make it more practical" at 250ish. Crazy

Lalo and Scott, Bugatti is ready to deliver its first Veyron to a customer in the U.S. sometime in October  . After all the problems and numerous setbacks, the customer cars are being built as we speak. With only 50 made per year for, I believe, 6 years (or 8, not sure), and being I live in southeast Pennsylvania, my chance of seeing one of these amazing cars is slim to none :shame: . My hope it that there will be one at next years New York Auto Show. I'd like to add a shapshot to my automobile picture album :nice: . THis car makes the Mclaren F1 look tame in comparison, from all the reveiws from various auto magazines. WHAT A CAR  .

jgsmuzzy Oct 20, 2005 03:10 AM

I am still not a fan of these cars. 1000hp is insane, but so is the price tag. As for it making the McLaren F1 look tame, you would hope it would, technology has moved on a heck of a lot in 12 years!

James, your right on with the technology thing. The one thing the Mclaren F1 will always be, is a sensational car that will never be able to be reproduced. Yes the Veyron is faster, but it weighs almost a ton (2,000 lbs) more. The Mac was just over 2,500 or so, and the Veyron is close to 4,400. Plus for the technology having come along the past 12 years, for the Mclaren to still be the fastest production car for so long was quite a feat. Even the techno-packed Enzo couldn't beat the F1's record. I like the Bugatti, and hope to see one eventually. :nice:

1999 Black 35th GT Oct 22, 2005 09:39 AM

WOW!!!! Amazing! I'm not to keen on the grill but it will grow on me.

That is a gorgeous car and the power is insane. Wonder what the maintenance cost would be? :jester:

Hey Andy, the whole story with the grill is that all Bugatti's had the Horsehoe shaped grill. If you go look back at the EB110 Supercar of the early 90's, it has the same style grill, only a bit smaller.

About the mantinence, I heard the warranty is only 2 years, or 31,000 miles, whichever occurs first. I figured for $1.2M, you should get something longer than 2 years, :dunno: .

est. gas milage city 7 hwy 10....ouch.... but i guess when you spend 1.25 million bucks on a car you don't mind paying for gas.

ScottyBoy302 Oct 22, 2005 11:32 AM

As far as the warranty goes, i guess you get what you pay for :jester: . And i couldn't see the gas being an issue as i boubt any one of those cars will ever rack more than a couple thousand miles a year.

cheech6g Oct 27, 2005 02:48 PM

i dont know for sure....but wasnt the Saleen S7 twin turbo supposed to be the fastest car for a while. Because i havent heard anything about it really. well now that this thing is out, and 280mph?!?! well maybe the S7tt isnt going to the on top.

ScottyBoy302 Oct 27, 2005 04:13 PM

Ya, but take that S7tt and drop the half million+ into it that you saved and "make sure your seat is locked in the upright position"...

ScottyBoy302 Oct 28, 2005 02:38 PM

I'm not sure if a Hennessey Viper counts as a production car, but it looks like the Veyron's been unseated already. The new Venom tt Coupe has 1000hp and hits 255mph, beating the Bugatti's 253 (and undercutting it by about $1 million). It was a short reign at the top, i hope they enjoyed it. :D Nothing beats domestic iron! As long as you're going in a straight line...

05fordgt Oct 28, 2005 04:50 PM

I don't think the Hennessey Viper would count, as it is a tuner car. The title is for factory production car, or basically bone stock. Even though that Viper sounds wicked, Hennessey is such a crook, I wouldn't give him the time of day. His name is Persona Non Grata on most of the Viper forums. They all dispise him.

ScottyBoy302 Oct 29, 2005 10:44 AM

Why? I love those Venoms.

mustang_sallad Oct 29, 2005 03:18 PM

anybody else think that the nose of the veyron looks a bit like the Alfa Romeo GT?
