Anyone owned a corvette?

I'm really falling in love with a c5 or c6 corvette z06. Is there any gt owners on here that has owned one? Interested in what they are like to maintain, parts, work on and reliability.

I've never owned one but have worked on them for years. They are very reliable. Gotta remember that the Vette is GM's flagship. Top dog with all the best stuff in it. They are wonderful cars if you like the way they look and feel. Drive one first though. It's unlike other vehicles you've driven. Repair costs are a little higher than say a stang or Camaro but not outrageous.
Bottom line is they are awesome cars with only two seats(biggest downfall).

Let me add I am probably looking at the base c6 and not the z06, hard to justify spending that much.

I looked very very hard at C5 ZO6's back in 2007. Just couldn't see having only two seats when I like to bring my kids along for drives.

Have had a 2004 since new...window module went out one year but that's been only problem. We've managed to avoid the typical C5 glitches...lucky, I guess.

Never had any experience with one but there was one running the autocross at the street machine nationals this summer that sounded insane. Added to my list of cars I want to have someday.

Get a C6 if you can a huge improvement over the C5. I had one for 6 years, the longest I ever kept a car. Just a great car no problems with the one I had. Not saying anything bad about Mustang's,but a Vette is just a very different vehicle. It is a sports car.
