They are using a 1.7 liter blower that peaks around 20,000 rpm IIRC so boost comes on early.

The Eaton supercharger is a bit smaller, but spins much faster. You should see the video of the 8 speed automatic 2015 Z06 go from 0-60. (In the video it goes to 150,....no sweat.)

That sounds right. Per Chevy, it makes 457tq just off idle, 625tq and 2800rpms and and hits peak tq at 3600rpms.

 

Ive always loved corvette. Its my favorite car next to the mustang. That new one is really sexy.

 

you could out run a fair amount of cars with out even going over 3k rpm. imagine how strong the over drive gears and syncro's will have to be in order to hold that much torque. youll have a just under 600lb/ft of torque available at cruising speed. i have a feeling these cars will have problems with the overdrive gears/sycro's going out in the manual transmission z06's.

 

It is rather sexy. I'm talking about he Z06 of course,.......the Stingray does nothing for me and it doesn't look that great in my opinion.

I agree about the tail. From the nose back the new Vette is killer. But the ****-end looks like a Transformer, especially with the 4 exaggerated trumpets.

Whatever else you might think of Chevies, they are putting down some very impressive numbers, ala this and the Z28. Never underestimate one's competition.

Of course, there is a certain GT350 thingy on the near horizon...

Absolutely the best Corvette ever! Now if Ford could just bring a 2 seater V8 FF sports car to compete with this new Z06 id be impressed! Maybe a "Cobra AC" retro with say 500hp "Voodo" and weigh's in at sub 3k lbs for under $100K;-)
