2015 Corvette Z06
just noticed the gm stats says estimated 625+hp and 635+ lbs of torque. The LS9 was rated 638hp and only 604 lb-ft. So this new LT4 should be more powerful than the LS9. Wonder if they will shoot to beat the gt500 hp figure.
They may not shoot to beat the power, but instead be close to the power level but make it more usable instead of spinng the first 4 geard
it will probably have about the same hp numbers as the ls9 but will have more torque. i think the the torque will be the 635ft/lb they estimated but i believe the hp will be higher than the 625hp they said. the ls9 in the c6 zr1 had a 2.3L supercharger and the lt4 in the c7 z06 only has a 1.7L supercharger. the z06 will have more torque than the gt500 but i doubt it will have more hp. which torque is really what moves and accelerates the vehicle.
The new Z06 is taking the place of both the ZR1 and the ZO6, no new ZR1...

Based on the sheer awesomeness of this new ZO6 and comparing it to the Z/28 at $75k, I wouldn't be surprised if it is over $100k.

I will say, I like the Z06 A LOT more than the Stingray. (Well,...who wouldn't right?!?! lol) I saw the 2015 Z06 convertible last night online and did some research on it and fell in love. That is just one gorgeous car with the top down. And I'm not really a convertible car guy. I mean it looks killer with the top down. I want.
At first,...I was the same way,...but with the top down, it gives the car a totally different look. Gorgeous car, (meaning the convertible), with killer performance.
They say it "may" hit the 200MPH mark as well.

From a cost and power perspective the new engine was really the only route forward GM could take for its flagship Corvette.

I really do like it as a coupe, especially in the blue. Not a big fan of the convertible though. If only it was not a GM product...
Never had the best of luck with my GM purchases, they always seemed to bite me in the end.

Yeah,...with all the lawsuits and recalls with GM, it's scary getting into one of their vehicles nowadays.
Are most of these recalls on Chevy's? Hopefully the Corvette doesn't experience the same cheapness of its fellow vehicles. I do love the new look.
Many companies still don't realize that cutting costs (aka quality) in the short term can lead to some major costs in the long term. IMO, a companies reputation is directly related to the quality of their products. I don't respect companies that consistently put out junk. Unless, of course, being at the bottom of the market is their strategy (one I personally would never want).

Most of the recalls are coming from Chevrolet. I'm pretty sure the Corvette, especially the Z06, should be void of those recalls.
