I might have to look into trading in my Mustang sooner rather than later. My job is 38 miles away. So round trip it's taking a quarter tank every day. Filling up every 4 days is getting dang expensive. $60 every 4 days is a ton for someone who's not rich like Tom.
Need something that can average better than 22-23ish mpg hwy.
Focus ST, perhaps.

Trading in a car JUST for the gas mileage is a mistake my family has already made. Got rid of a beautiful Mercury Mariner to save about 5 mpg. I would not do it again. loved that thing.
Trading cars is an expensive thing to do. Is saving $60 in gas per month worth selling your mustang and getting flipped in a different car? Financially it just doesn't make sense, unless you really think you want that ST.

It is an auto. When I was driving it to Dayton on the highway everyday 65 mile round trip I averaged almost 38 mpg. And to address Cody's statment about not flipping cars I guess it all depends on what your situation is. I bought the Focus because I was driving my 1993 F150 4x4 on that 65 mile trip and it was costly me $125 a week. The Focus was doing it on $35 a week. The saving in gas mileage alone made my payment. My truck only gets 14 mpg.

I still love my 20 year old truck. Had some small rusty areas fixed last fall and it still looks brand new. But the mileage really sucks. Something about a 351 W engine/auto trans in an extended cab pickup with 3:73 gears. Pulled my 20' Bass boat great back then but with 2 tanks and I think 37 gallons total it kills at the pump.

Its got a 366 FI 6.0l and has a 22 gallon tank. All I know it cost me around $70 to fill everytime I fill up. I hate filling that thing up with gas

Man what am I doing wrong. my new Focus is at 28/28 mpg and I drive it like a Grandpa. I think I need to take it in for service. It has a hard time starting from a stop. Truck gets 15mpg and the mustang still gets a lot of smiles per gallon.
Got my 18 x 10" rims and 295/30/18 Hoosiers A6s last week. The fronts hit the shock and I needed a 1/4" spacer. Then the studs could only grab about 5 turns on the lug nuts. It worked for the weekend race but I ordered longer ARP studs and open end lug nuts. The spacer was just a cheap one from Auto zone. I'm thinking of rtving it to the hub or rim to keep it centered, any thoughts pro or con.
Next project are Racing seats, harness bar or Roll Cage???
Hoping everybodies Summer is a good one.

Ha dly it's great cuz you're always easy to joke around with. My stable is pretty boring just the same ol BMW and Fox. Last year we added 2012 GMC crew cab Sierra chrome edition and of course I have my 03 flstci.
Well Scotties problem with selling his nice modded Mustang has got me thinking that I'll never be able to sell mine so I think I'm going all in.
Thinking of the Corbeau LG1 wide racing seats, perhaps The MM 6 point Roll bar to start with than saving up for a Brenspeed forged engine, new clutch, long tube headers.
How much $$ should I ask for for my interior after I take it out. Black/Dove front and rear deluxe leather seats. No side airbags but both front seats are powered with heaters. 2 small cuts in the back of the pass seat. It's when my wife brought a small knife in a cloth bag to a car show to cut her fruit with. It stuck though the cloth bag and stabbed the seat twice.
just one question...are the training wheels off the flstci yet???
