MotoIQ Project 5.0 - Build of Bebs Mustang

These are the links to the build of my car. It's on-going, but for now - you can check out some details on suspension, wheel and tire info. We haven't done track testing after everything has been put on, should happen very soon though; results will be posted then.

If you have any questions on these manufacturers, feel free to post. Any feedback/inquiries (good or bad) are welcome. :)

Nice to see familiar faces again, hoping for another meet near future. I am planning on similar upgrades myself possibly frpp handling kit. I love those HRE wheels but boy they are pricey. Looking awesome on yours!

These are Flowform by HRE, price point starts at $2995/set. Wheels are something you should never cheap out on (and tires) so I think that's a pretty good pricing for what you get. How ya been dude??

Ray, judging by your history; yes, there will always be a mustang by your side lol. Even if you may take a break here and there....

Nice set up! Never seen that color combo before

PonyMuscletang13 2/16/14 08:45 PM

Doing good. Still obsessed with Pony cars, trying to let go.

True !

I like it a lot. It adds some pop to your car. The white gives you so many color options. I agree, we need to all meet up again.

quick question, I just noticed on your build site that those guys replaced the upper control arm. I'm wondering, do know how much they torqued the bolt underneath the seat? And how they did it?

If you don't know, can you ask them for me please? :)

I was looking to change mine too but have been discouraged because of that bolt.. ford says to torque it to 350 lbs/ft.. i have no idea how to get it that high and dont want to put it too low, so im holding off. But that info above would be great help!

beb 2/18/14 04:58 PM

Howard from Technosquare worked on the vehicle, so I am not sure.

Try checking out Whiteline suspensions website for directions or maybe asking the question on the build site and someone who is informed may answer!

Sorry I can't be of help!

Ford spec is 129 ft-lbs for the bolt inside the car (make sure its preloaded) and the bolts under the car are 85 ft-lbs so it's pretty close

where did you get that 129 spec? according to the service manual i saw, it said 350, but if its 129 ill be happy! i can definitely do that. what is your source for that spec?

where i saw the 350: http://iihs.net/fsm/?dir=731&viewfile=SPECIFICATIONS.pdf
and

That's pretty neat, the one I saw was when we did my '08 GT500 back in'08

mustangray 2/20/14 10:42 PM

I just talked with my buddy(he has a Mustang shop) he said there is a lot of discrepancy over uca torque spec but Ford originally did them at 350 but replacement ones all do 129 (that's what he does when he does them) I don't know if that helps or just makes more confusion
