I wouldn't spend 44 grand, even if it was supercharged. The V-6 Supercharged Thunderbirds I have owned in the past, had no where near the great sounding growl emitting from the duals on my stock Mustang GT I have now. A V-6 will never have that deep sounding power and torgue of the All American V-8. Without looking, listen to any V-6 supercharged car as they are running through the gears, and it still sounds like a six, but hearing the distinct growl of the V-8 under stress, running through the gears, will always turn the heads of anyone within earshot, to see what wonderful car is behind that great sound we have all come to love.

But if it WAS supercharged it would be a supercharged V8, not a V6. The exhaust sound is still fantastic (I can attest to as a 03 Cobra owner).

Ooops! Thanks for the clarification. But I still wouldn't pay that sort of money, when what I have now will do me just fine. I have always liked owning performance cars in the past, and always will, but within reason.

It makes me wonder why Saleen was ready with the body kit minus their signature double vent hood. Could it be they didn't want to conflict with one that Ford might have on the works? Have they seen the future Cobra hood? After all, Ford made the '05 and its specs available to all the major tuners way before its release to the public. Perhaps a little hand shake agreement of I'll wash your hands, you wash mine ?

the WB makes the saleen looks a lot better... and the rear wing(s) delete is an improvement... me likes... but not that much

it looks a helluva lot better without that rediculous spoiler on top of the sorta ducktail. I'm sure it doens't come with that one because it's not supercharged, but hey.... looks better

That "signature hood" is for the supercharged version (as is the spoiler). This is naturally the n/a s281.

It just doesn't look right in WB to me. Maybe it is just the pic.

That rear end treatment is ghastly! This is the first Saleen that I think is less attractive than the stock Mustang... of course, he's never had to modify such a beautiful factory effort before.
