713- and i think some had black or white tops...couldnt find the breakdown of ll verts, but know i saw it somewhere...that 'kzinti' guy that had helped me track my cars had bought a ll vert gt for his wife eons ago, but think that forum crashed...

my best guess is that NOW would be the time- currently they are just 'used cars' and i think pricing has probably near bottomed out- as the newer body styles 'newness' wears off, i really think the popularity of the 05-09 body style will be like the 65-70 by the time the 80's came along...classic lines never go out of style- 'rarity' wont be a issue for a while over color/options, but eventually it will as folks realize there actually were some rarely built combos. put a favorite search on ebay/cars dot com, etc, that can notify you as they come up- doubt it will take too long.
90% of folks with a 10 yr old car will probably be getting tired of it, and as struts/plugs/heater cores/etc start succumbing to time and the $ on the horizon start becoming facts of life, they'll start heading for newer models... age alone might dictate impending maintenance costs, but still- a couple k on a bargain classic that should get another decade of thumbs ups easily isnt bad- find a rare combo you might even make money on it down the road
still lovin mine much as the december day in 2005 when I finally got it... she's been a great car, just clicked over 100k Friday. many test and tune nights, autocrossed with my son for 2 years- hoped to again this yr, but no time...the car has held up great, one 50.00 newtakeoff clutch disc only, at about 80,000 a diff carrier bearing failed somewhere around that time too, gave reason to put 4.10s in it
I have had my 08 V6 for a few years and just recently last year bought a 07 GT and wouldn't trade them for nothing. Love them both.
we wound up with three(06,07,09) and they have been great cars... wouldnt mind a 08 gt auto to round out the set, but no room LOL. I drove the wifes V6 for the first time since our road trip in 14, forgot how nice of a car it was too... the 09 is still a undriven virgin, its so old now, doubt i will ever drive it now, should be in a museum somewhere, doubt theres another undriven plain-jane 05-09 GT anywhere unless Ford already has one...still was a waste of a 5 year extended car payment, but its identical to the 06, so never 'missed' it. gotta say, anyone who ever buys a new aluminum motored car again, I had sprayed the engine down with wd40 new, hoping to head off the white powdery oxidation they all get, and although the aluminum took on a darker/very slightly yellowish tint, the oxidation is no worse than the day I got it.ospho on the brake rotors preserved them too, all these years and discs are still new looking- heck the others rust literally overnight LOL. too bad nothing helps rubber from aging- the tires are surely shot, probably octagonal from being just moved around occasionally. last time I got in to warm it up/run the AC/steering/blend doors/etc, noticed the clear plastic on the seat/steering wheel is falling apart, time to take that stuff off and vaccuum the drivers seat/carpet... doubt the window sticker can even be removed now... ford keeps sending airbag notices, eventually they'll send someone here to replace them, too far from a dealer that does house calls currently, but they are going to have to eventually... not my fault they put crap parts in, and its not getting towed for THAT. its only been 'on the road' 2 times, both on the same rolloff towtruck- dealer flatbedded it from Michigan, same driver flatbedded it to our house 2 days later when we got home to pick it up (had called them to order it while on vacation- the morning after the 'speed channel midnight reveal' of the 2010 - they found a 3 mile/undriven on a lot in michigan that was just delivered, and arranged a dealer trade to get it...still got 'employee pricing' that was going on that week, but had to pay 500 for the tow- still was a few dollars less than my 06 was
Still enjoying mine as the years pass by. It is my only manual car (5 speed) and I would really miss shifting when I get in that mood. I am not a 6 speed guy as I feel it is one gear too many, so new manual cars are 'out' for me. This GT/CS is just an excellent vacation car and it doesn't mind 'regular' gas when cruising the highway which helps out cost-wise when travelling thousands of miles. On those beautiful sunny days you can just put the top down (so easy) and cruise listening to that wonderful stock exhaust note as you row through the gears. No issues at the 14 year mark and hoping the trend continues as I head north of the 60,000 miles point in the car's life. Truly highway miles which helps too. I previously had a 2005 Roush Sport. I think M05FastbackGT said it best... this year and model of mustang is probably (biased opinion) the best "retro" redo of any of the muscle car makes out there. While completely modern for it's time it screams classic.
There isn't much left I can do to my GT/CS but if I were to do anything now it'd be upgrade the seats. Something that keeps me firmly planted where I need to be while spirited driving is underway. Otherwise it's perfect the way it is. When things wear out like the motor I'll upgrade with forged internals just for good measure and continue to drive it.

I didn't think it was possible but I love mine just as much if not more then when I first got it back on 06. I wouldn't trade it for anything new despite better performance and all that, I don't need it. 430 rwhp is more then plenty for me since my age went over the hill last year. The only newer Stang that made me think for a second was the GT350. I love those **** thigs but not enough over my little ol' 06' to get into another car payment.
