Excellent point! I can't help but think "soda bottle" or "tupperware" when I hear the word plastic. I'm sure not all poly-carbonate materials are the same and some crack engineering team came up with that system, it still bugs me. I have finally decided to trade my 05 in on a 2019 Gt Premium Coupe . I put my deposit down and ordered it on 7/10 and I think it will take about 8 weeks to get here.

I have 190K miles on a GT and engine has no leaks, no knocks, but does have a little smoke when starting up.....so looking forward to rebuilding this family member from ground up.

Well, my little '06 rolled over to 100,000 miles, and still runs great. Think I'll keep 'er.

Thanks Rocky. One of the members of our local "Liars Club" meeting wanted to buy it for his 17 y.o. last week. Said he's been looking for one like mine, and just can't find one. I just smiled and told him everyone that owns one is like me, they don't want to sell.

Heck if your area of the country is like mine an S197 05-09 that's been cared for with 100k miles is still selling for 11K-13K depending on the trim level if you can even find one. A wrung out one with a lot more miles is in the 7K-9K range. The guy that owned mine was asking 14K two years ago, and I fought to haggled him down to 11.5K cash.

Jim, I couldn't agree more with you. You would also think if the 05-09 S197's are hard to find? they'd be worth more than 7K-9K, but then again, it also depends on the milage. Being that my area of the country is in the northeast, one can only assume they're even more hard to find than those in the southern or western U.S. So perhaps those with up to 100K might sell between 11K-15K depending on the trim level and how well they've been cared for. Although at one point, I did consider selling my "06" GT. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized there was no way that anybody would offer more than 15K despite the fact my car has less than 26K original miles and is in very excellent condition. And as much as I like the current S550 Mustang, they just don't have nearly the same appeal when compared to the retro styling of the 2005-09 S197 Mustang, at least IMHO anyhow. Therefore I feel the same as you do about not wanting to sell

Rocky, here's an example (a very rare find here). This is an old friend I grew up with that deals mainly in cars like this. He may have this one awhile, but someone will jump on it even at this price. I stopped buy, and took a look at it just to see. It's a beauty, inside and out. I thought about it, but decided if I traded I wouldn't want to get this baby dirty. And, what good is it if I'm not gonna drive her. I already have a car that I don't drive much anyway.

Jim, this is just my opinion, but for a 10-year-old GT/CS that has nearly 37k miles, I just don't see how Morrison Motor Co is going to find a buyer that'll be willing to pay $19.4k unless they pay cash for it. Even then it's highly doubtful, as I just don't see how anyone is going to feel that anything other than a limited edition 2007-09 Shelby GT500 or perhaps a 2008-09 Shelby GT is going to be worth above market valve according to KBB. Personally, if I were going to spend nearly $20K for a 10+year-old Mustang? I would use that $20k towards a 36.5k mile 2007-2009 Shelby GT500 or 2008-2009 Shelby GT instead. Therefore IMHO, I really don't believe that somebody is going to jump on this car at the $19.4k asking price that your friend is expecting. Hopefully, I'm wrong about this, but I seriously doubt it

Like you Rocky I thought it would be on the lot awhile, but it sold last week. I don't know the actual price. I've known Jimmy Morrison since we were kids, and if the buyer talked him down to $1500 I would be surprised. He ships all over the world, and he's smart enough to wait it out. He sent two GT500's to Europe the first of the month. He's quite a shrewd businessman when it comes to cars.

Jim, I'm glad that it sold last week and didn't sit around. However, I'm going to stick to my guns until you find out the actual price it sold for. I'd be really surprised if it sold for the 19.4k asking price
