Ah ok. Yeah, I took a 300 mile trip last summer and got an average of 27.8 MPG. But, I haven't seen numbers like that since.

My 08 has just turned 100,000 and still sounds great! No problems engine wise. Transmission was rebuild around 72K but I have no record of it. Just hear say. Just recently installed 8 new plugs and 3 coils as she was running rough under acceleration.
All that is gone now.... sweet ride!!!

Whelp, time for an update. She's got 136000+ now, and while I could bring up this or that... no real issues, and lookin' real purty still.

200,000 and counting

200,000 and counting. I'm not a Ford fan at all. This is my gf car. Always changed the oil every 5k with Mobil 1. Other than the 2 plastic heater hose elbows it's never broke down, or let us down. I've changed the plugs twice, and at 200k I did injectors, coils, thermostat, fuel filter, flushed the power steering fluid, coolant, brake fluid, trans, and rear fluid. Pinion seal, trans seal, trans mount, frrp front/rear lower control arms, carpet, hood insulation, 2 new fenders, brake hoses, alternator, one parking brake cable, koni struts, frrp lowering springs, tie rods. 2 windshields. one clutch at 100k.
Roush front bumper, rockers, hood scoop, spoiler. Roush wheels. Smoked tail lights. Carbon fiber tail end panel. Roush cat back exhaust.

Now nothing was wrong with it. I did all of this as preventive maintenance, and cause she loves this car. And most of it was done at 200k. I've only changed the coolant, brake, power steering, trans and rear fluids one time at 200,000. I know. I'm a bad bf. But the car still runs perfectly. It burns a normal amount of oil for a car with that many miles. I just had it repainted for her. If the motor goes I'll either do a gt500 engine swap or the 5.0. I am impressed it runs as strong as it does. And no major repairs. I'll give it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻.

Flynhigh, congrats to you & your GF on 200k. I've never kept a car long enough to have one with 200k. I usually get tired of them after 8-10 years and ready for something new. It is good to know that we should be able to get that life out of ours with regular maintenance.

'09 v6 45th anniversary a little over 65k now. Thermostat housing ruptured around 50k and was still covered by a warranty, so that was nice. Door sides peeled off around 55k. Had throttle body cleaned at 60k as preventative maintenance and it felt better afterwards. Leather seat stitching is coming loose in some places, but it's minor. Car is still in good condition otherwise. I don't want another car payment any time soon so I'm going to run this into the ground before I buy a new one. Thankfully it holds up really well and will last a long time with regular preventative maintenance. The dealership is always shocked to see my service history when I bring it in for an oil change, apparently most people in their 20's don't take care of their cars lol

I know this is an old thread, but you guys have really made me feel much better about buying a used '06 GT with 89K on the clock.

Doesn't matter how much mileage; it matters how it was driven & taken care of

Over 90K on my 2010 and going strong. Looks almost new unless you look close and see the rock chips. It seems to like a good run on the road track, blows out the cobwebs . . . .
