I live in Miami. Everytime I visit a dealer or look in their websites they only have one GT if any and maybe 2 or three v6's. When will the day come when I'll be able to visit any dealer and have 20 to 30 GT's to choose from. Dont what to order one, I've read the horror stories in this Forum.

Horror stories? There's like 10 positive stories for every negative on this board.

I'd even say 99% of the people that posted had their GTs ordered.

And just wait until summer/fall '05...I'm sure there will be plenty of choices on the lots then.

What I meant was stories like " I ordered my car 2 months ago and i call the dealer and they have no idea when it will be in" OR the " I got my car today and it was damaged already" stories. I've read plenty of those!!

It's just that 1 out of 10 tends to complain and whine a bit more.

With the SN95's it took about a 18 monhths for 8 - 10 new Mustangs to be on lots and there were still a few 93 Fox's hangin out also. That's my neigborhood mind you. If our national economy stays reasonable and sales continue as I hope to be strong, then I would guess at spring time of 2006 to see 20 - 30 Mustangs on some lots.

I'd rather wait 2-4 months and get the exact car I wanted than wait 2-4 months, or more, for inventory to show up on the lots and still have to settle for less than a perfect match.

Karpro I remember the days when that was done. Other than the Mustang how many pre-order cars anymore. Don't they settle for something close? Wouldn't you say 90% just settle?

We currently have approximately 45 sold orders in the order bank, less than 10 of these are Mustangs. People are spending $15 -50,000 for a vehicle, why not get the exact combination you want. If you look at the option list on pickups and SUVs there are more buildable combinations on those than Mustangs. When the time comes that there is available inventory, it will be theoretically easier to find an exact match on a Mustang than on a Super Duty pickup.

The day will come much more distantly than the day you can order exactly what you want and have it come to you. Mine took a bit longer than I wanted, but I also ordered way before Job 1. Other than that, I have had absolutely no problems.

if you know you are going to buy an 05 then you should definitely order. that way you can get exactly what you want. There are not many horror stories, just people being anxious and a little impatient, but you will have to be patient anyway to wait for that many to show up on a lot.

Don't know about you guys, but when I shop I like choices. More importantly I like seeing in person what I'm about to purchase. That's why I wouldn't preorder something as expensive or important to me as a car. That's just the way I am. Would rather have 20-30 new Mustangs on a lot to choose from than be disapointed by a preorder not living up to my expectations.

I look at this as the exact opposite. When you order you have the choice of EVERY available combination, equipment and color. Who's to say any of those 20-30 are going to be the exact combination you want. What about a house? Will you only buy a pre-existing house or would you consider having a custom house built to your specs?

Also, nothing says you can't turn down the pre-order if it doesn't drive to your liking once it arrives.

I would never actually follow through with a purchase until I drove the thing, pre-order or not.

When there are 20-30 cars on the lot you can still order from the factory. My only comment was until the 05 stang and the 05 300C which are both very popular no dealer wanted to take my order. They looked at me like I had 3 heads. Dealers didn't want to wait 6 weeks to close the sale if the dealer in the next town had something they could put you in. I'm happy to see that option now is better received. Just wait once they get to the point they have 10-30 cars on the lot they will do everything in there power to keep you from ordering. Been there done that.

Last I heard (few weeks back), World Ford had 3 V6's and they did have one single GT.

I know Sawgrass Ford (minutes from the house) had at least one Torch Red GT on the showroom floor but that is defintely GONE by now. (Still have a silver V6 on display out font though...)

Don't know about Maroone. Don't usually go for preordering something like this either but between all the adavnce material I read on the car, my brother and his car knowledge, and THIS SITE actually, I feel confident about making my order instead of getting one off the lot.

[Especially after my sister-in-law's Redfire GT showed up a few weeks ago and I saw the thing in person, I knew I was right. And after I found out we could use a family connection with Ford and save some GREEN by placing an order for it, not to mention getting the car loaded out EXACTLY like I wanted it, I didn't hesitate.]

Hmmm most dealers in Miami/South FL have several V6 to choose from and a few GT's. Hvae you tried Maroone or World Ford?
World ford has nothing in stock. They told me they have a 2 black ones coming in sometime in late dec. of which one is already sold. As for Maroone ford, foget it, they want 2000.00 over msrp.

I'm going to Maroone Saturday to test drive their GT. I know Midway and Coral Gables Ford doesn't have much on hand. How about Sawgrass Ford?
Dont know about Sawgrass but I should give them a call.
What color are you looking for??. I'm looking for a black with charcoal interior with all the goodies. I did find one at Gus machado, I even test drove it but after giving it a thorough inspection ( YOU NEED TO DO THIS NOWADAYS) I found a huge dent inside the door, where the mustang emblem is. I couldnt believe it. I brand new car with damage already. As much as I want the car this was a huge disappointment. so i let it go. Found out some guy came a few hours later and bought it. maybe he didnt see the damage.
