What do people use to clean the rocker panels..
especially behind the front wheel under the door. There are large amounts of tar and grease that do not come off with just soap.

I'd bet a detailing spray, like Meguiar's QuickDetailer, would work great for spot cleaning
|
Okay, will try it thanks!

There are several different brands of bug & tar remover that work well.
|
Once you get those areas clean be sure to give those areas a couple of coats of wax and keep it waxed often.
It will make it a lot easier to get the bugs and tar off in the future. Plus check it every other day and when you see some take a few minutes to clean it off before it has a chance to dry hard as a rock. |
Armorall to shine, and Wd-40 for tar.
|
Turtle Wax actually makes a pretty good bug and tar remover - strong and effective, plus it gives a nice polish, too...
I only use Maguiers on my car, so thats saying alot |

As mentioned above, WD40 works wonders and is safe for the finish. A good Bug and Tar remover works as well.

I tried this and it got about 40% of it off! I'm staying away from the "wife" comment in case she is reading...LOL. |

We don't count, April since we have the V6 rocker mouldings. That was a big advantage I didn't expect when I swapped mine out. Not only did it make the car look slimmer, but now it's easier to clean. :nice:

Both. :-D

I use McGuire's Professional Mirror Glaze 3, or M3 as its known in the detailing business. Its a polish, that isn't abrasive, and it removes basically anthing on a car, from tar, to road grime. I used it this weekend, and it took everything off inside the wheel wells, and on the lower rocker. I recommend this stuff, but you have to get it online. You can't find it in any store. Hope this helps. :nice:

Wax wax and wax(or maybe a detailer). Don't use household cleaning products. They are not made for car paint jobs and can do damage. If you must, use a bug and tar remover. But wax will usually do the job. I just cleaned a bunch of tar off my car this weekend cuz they were paving the roads by my work.

MR Clean Auto-dry car wash system is by far the best cleaning system I have ever used. It is 99% successful at removing bugs, tar and the occasional ros kill bits form all of my vehicles. It doesn't always dry quite the way they say on coopl days or damp evenings, but it does clean nicely and leaves no spots. Get a good microfiber cleaning mit or sponge. NXT wax is awesome and the NXT spray detailer is a great touch up. It is also very effective at removing bugs.
