The 07s have a different coolant hose routing (upper hose runs from the passenger side of the radiator to the driver side of the intake manifold).

I heard the old hose routing caused some problems with changing the engine oil filter?
Another guess is coolant cavitation or NVH. A longer hose routing might slow down the coolant enough so that it doesn't cause any vibrations.

I'm sure Ford did not redesign anything to make the oil filter easier to change. It is already a piece of cake on my '06, don't know how it could be any easier.
I wish some other manufacturers (ahem, *cough*, Saturn, *cough*) would redesign some stuff to make it easier to get to the filters. I spent longer changing the oil on the girls saturn than I did changing the front brake pads. Ridiculous.

Thanks Hiznherponies.
Ford generally makes the modular engines very easy to maintain and remove compared to the older 302s. Changing the t-stat in my 302 was an ordeal compared to the 4.6 (2V/3V).
If anything, the hoses on the 05-06 GT looked very short compared to the 07 (at least the upper hose).

he's just saying that there's no point in debating
stock mustangs because in the end they're all slow
compared to a modded mustang.
and the fact that the 07's are slower kind of sucks.
but it's ok since i don't race.
