Throttle response
Ok. I need some help. My 06" Gt has some hesitation when you first push the pedal almost like a dead spot. Also when the motor is cold the idle surges. Any ideas what could be causing these problems?? Any ideas how to fix them?? I'd greatly appreciate any help. Thanks, Zach

Clean your throttle body first, and then see where you're at. Be sure to disconnect the battery first, then take the TB off, clean it, put it back on, and then reconnect the battery.
There's a video around here posted... search for it, I'm sure it'll be 'right there'.

Yeah, clean your throttle body. My car had this hesitation and it went away after I cleaned the throttle body. Make sure you take the TB off and clean both sides.

"NO! Belay that Carb Cleaner order... Arm Throttle Body Cleaner!" - Commander Decker, Star Trek: The Motion Picture (Paraphrased)*
Seriously. Carb Cleaner is bad for TBs. It eats the coating, and you'll never get the car to work right.
Make sure it says 'Throttle Body' on there, k?
/* - Not real sure what either cleaner will do against an asteroid what was sucked into a warp imbalance induced wormhole, but hey, what do I know.

To be honest, I'd LOVE to have to deal with it. That'd mean i'm on the Enterprise, zoomin' about the galaxy. Sweetness.
/'course, they'd probably make me a redshirt, so I better get in with either Mr. Spock or Dr. McCoy so I get to be a blueshirt instead, and not die in every episode. That always sucks.
//Then again, by then, they're all wearing grey... and then they all are wearing red... so... uh... well...
///Whatevs, I'm on the Enterprise, homies!
////oh, no wait, I'm not.
/////And... I don't thing Big E has carbs, exactly... think they're called 'injectors' for the matter-antimatter reaction chambers.
//////Which means STP injector cleaner then. Got it.

After you clean it there is a method to reduce or eliminate that lag.
Turn key on, slowly push the gas pedal to the floor, slowly, you will hear the clicks, then let go the pedal. Turn key off, then restart the car, lag all gone!

"clicks"? What clicks? The rest of that, yeah, relearn the throttle position from 0 to WOT, but I've heard that's bunk. I tried it though, and it does seem to work.
Then again, I keep 'resetting' the windows, and they keep 'forgetting' so...

Yes, just let it go back up slowly after you reach the floor, if you listen you can hear the subtle clicks of the CPU re learning the position. I do mine about every 6 months! Roll your windows down and make sure your in a quiet place and you can hear it...

This a thousand times over. Re-learning the windows I think is a myth because sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't...and then sometimes you don't even have to re-set them if they clunked...just roll up part way than back down.

I have only done my window once... The throttle sensor learns over time how you drive your car and becomes sluggish..

When the windows go 'clunk' into the door when using auto-down, it's going too far. It's supposed to auto stop gently. So what the idea is, as I understand it, is to turn the car on, let it get figured out with the lights on the dash, then roll the window down, HOLDING the button down after it stops for 2+ seconds. This resets the down stop location. Repeat for the up. The window is now reset. Some say do it 3 times each way to be sure... I dunno... once seems to fix it for a while.
Of course, there's a TSB about disconnecting the battery and some other tricks to really reset it 'right', but the above method usually works for about a month, then it forgets. I'm not sure the TSB version would help or not...
And your 2012, I'm not sure it applies or not. I'm guessin' it's the same...
