I ordered the fan blades for that exact reason. Look at my 66, and that's why I got them.

Do you think that FORD was going after this look? These wheels remind me of the new fanblades, just smaller.

I am sure they had a sample of these in the design studio.
Clear influence.
As to Bling –bling.
No.
The “Blades†are muted, painted satin with bright machine work around the edges.
I’ve gone through all sides of the story in my mind for a while.
My brother insists the Mustang is a classic muscle / pony car and its heritage lies in Bullitt and Halibrand wheels.
Well, after much thought, no.
This is the first all new Mustang in decades.
Classic styling cues?
Tons.
And darn if they don’t work.
But, this car is also a new, thoroughly modern car; both mechanically, and stylistically.
The proportions are modern, the long wheelbase, the wheels pushed into the corners, the low overhang – modern.
After ordering my Vert with the 17 Bullitts, I changed to the Fanblades.
Putting 5 year old carry over wheels from the old car is just not right.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the 17†Bullitt wheel. I almost went out and bought a GT year back when the Bullitt wheel came on the car, and to this day its hard not to pause and admire just how right they look.
But frankly, placing these old wheels on this beautiful, all new, modern design, just takes something away from it.
I think the Fanblades look fabulous.
Work right. Look right.
Very comfortable and pleased with they way they complement the car.
As for Bling-Bling – the polished / Chrome 18 Bullitt – well –
I've see them (aftermarket wheels - not the FORD ones).
Pimp-my-Ride.

No way are they bling-bling. I wouldn't catagorize any of the wheels that Ford offers as bling. Bling to me would be 20s and up that are too "busy" and usually polished chrome. Not to say that smaller wheels could not be bling, or that chrome makes them bling. I like the polished chrome look for certain colors, like black.

They are the one item on my car that people have complimented most. I'm glad I got the fanblades.

Personally, I'm not a fan of the fan blades (no pun intended!). But they definitely are not "bling" (I hate that word, by the way...)
Now, if Ford had made the fan portion of the wheel a spinner, then yes, it WOULD be bling!

There is no way they are "bling" Ford offers some of the most mundane wheels out there, SVT has some nice ones. If i had not done my tire upgrade when i got my car, i would think about putting one of the 18" wheels on my car.

Who would think that the fanblades are bling? Bling is not even a real word. It was made by some rapper to make it mean something like a lot of jewelry or if u have a car, huge chrome rims would be considered "bling". I didnt notice any chrome on the fanblades, and the fanblades are only 18". They are far from being considered bling.
In fact, the chrome 17-18" bullits would be considered to be more "bling" then the fanblades.
Just goes to show ya some people are just ignorant

Bling is in the new dictionary so yes, it is a real word. To go on and say that 17-18" rims are more bling and then state that some people are ignorant makes me wonder what you are talking about. How are 17" bullits, that have been around for years, more bling than the 18" fanblades? You make it sound that things can only be "bling" if they are "chrome". Wouldn't that be ignorant?
