Legendary racecar driver and Cobra creator Carroll Shelby will offer a modified V-6 upgrade package for 2006 Ford Mustang. The CS 6 features a Shelby-exclusive Paxton NOVI-1200 Centrifugal supercharger that increases horsepower from the stock 210 to more than 350. Available in two stages, the package is intended to produce a faster, lighter, and more powerful Mustang with official Shelby performance, all for under $35,000; it can be installed by Ford dealers on either coupes or convertibles, will carry Ford warranty, and can be financed into the cost at the time of purchase. The Stage 1 appearance package includes front fascia and side scoops, custom hood and upper and lower grilles, interior upgrades, 20-inch American Racing wheels, and custom striping, graphics, and logos, all for $5499. The Stage 2 Performance package includes all of the above and adds suspension upgrades, Borla dual exhaust, 350-hp Paxton supercharger, Baer Signature Series Brakes with Shelby Calipers, and rear fascia and rear gear upgrades, all for $14,999. (Prices do not include labor.) More information can be found at

I'm all for v6 high performance, but does it have to have the "ricer" look? Big "Shelby" on the side, "Cobra" graphic on the front quarter, "Shelby..." on the top of the windshield. Am I expressing my opinion? I think so. In other words, I don't like it.

You can get your point across without being so descriptive....
I like it.

I like the idea of a performance V6, not crazy about the large decal on the side but the rest I really do like. I definitely like the Shelby across the front grill.

are you mad?
yea bet u think the original GT350 and GT500 is a ricer too
as far as i am concerned Mr. Shelby could take a dump on the road and it would have at least 320HP and a ton of us would pay a nice chunk to have it

Dude, you crack me up.
So.... are the front bumper cover and other body parts going to be available w/o the package? I wonder if they'll try to keep is exclusive, but I really dig that front bumper cover. The hood is bad hiney (<-- darn filters) too, but I still think I'm goin' with the Cali Dreamin' hood. But, I do think the bumper has the right touch of class to it... assuming it will fit a GT.
Ok, V-6 ers dont flame me but.....I agree with above, it looks tooo rice. The side looks like the Cobra II of the mustang II gererations (no offense). And I am not totally on board with these 20inch plus wheels on everything that is being designed. Maybe I am old fashioned...my signature tells you that this is my 3rd stang, the first in over 23 years. I think that you bought a V-6 for gas milage and insurance savings....if not buy and wait like we all did for your V-8 to come in. It would be different if the mustang did not come with a V-8. I really think that they should offer the following:
V-6 basic, V-6 pony package(dressed and bumped up in HP and Handling), V-8 basic (bout 275HP) and V-8 GT (320HP) and a 2 (yes, 2) Shelbys (GT 350...4.6L S/C) and (GT 500...as designed currently) BUT offer more shelbys to the public...heck the GT availablilty in most areas were what they were in the 60's for the BOSS and Shelbys.
I know I am old school...maybe Ford is correct, offer 2 basic models and let the mod aftermarket take over (by the way good job aftermarket folks). Still not crazy over the car shown above....
Thanks for letting me vent....still wish for a factory offered S/C for the 4.6....excuse me 281 CID

Rice. Maybe even Wild Rice. I'm not into it. Wheels blah. Again, if you intention is for everyone on the street to look at you. then it's for you. Me, I want something fast but subtle. This is not subtle by any means. Look at all those dang stickers. Why. So in 10 years half the stickers have peeled off. The 05 mustang became a huge hit because of the retro look. This is not retro looking at all. You can't find the word Mustang on the new design. But heck, Shelby apparently want's people to know your driving his car. I like Shelby, but to me he's selling out. I'm also starting to think the Shelby Cobra coming out next year will not be the investment many people are making it out to be. Just because his name is on it doesn't mean it will be worth money in 25 years. He11, does that mean the Shelby Dodge Omni of the 80's will be worth money? I think not.

Hmmmm. Reading the blurb above begs the question:
Can I take my own V6 into a dealer, order just the blower and other speed parts, have the dealer install them, and have the whole packaged still be warrantied?
Now THAT would be a wolf in sheep's clothing

Us V6'ers have takin your opinions in under submission.. I will have a talk with the board and see if there is anything contained inside your post which we should give any thought to.. I doubt it, because you have foolishly labeld a Shelby CS6 as "Rice".. Based on nothing else but the fact that it has a Large Cobra sticker on the side, given to it from Carroll Shelby, and also the fact that it is a Supercharged V6 which will not only smoke a stock GT in a 1/4 mile, but will have it for lunch at any road course in the world..
You have failed to mention the 500HP CS8 which is just down right nasty.. It is an absolutley astonishing Mustang.. It boast a Supercharged 4.6L engine which would go to town on pretty much anything street on a road course.. I love the CS6, but know when too much is too much.. That 500HP CS8 or upgraded GT is too much for the CS6 to handle.. This is why only 25 are available to the public.. To me, I dont care what motor is in the car.. I know a badazz Mustang when I see one.. That CS8 is utterly ridiculously sick.. This is props to you and 4.6.. I wont waste my time trying to find something bad about the 500HP CS8, because I cant.. Its awsome..
I thank GOD I have the ability to spot awsome Mustangs period, without the need to cast stones based on engine size.. If you love Mustangs, then your blind to whats under the hood.. You accept the entire package which is presented to you, and adore the car because of these 7 letters.......M-U-S-T-A-N-G.... We are so lucky our awsome S197's are recieveing so much love from the aftermarket community.. They could have classified the entire group as worthless and concentrated on Chargers, Vettes and Neon's.. Our cars are so good, that every model be it V6 or a V8 can be made to be worthy of road racing.. This says alot not about what size engine in the car, but the car itself..
You must remember, for it is the V6 Mustang which makes a GT, a GT.. Without the V6, the GT does not have a reference point in which to begin.. GT owners should feel proud that their car is so awsome, even the V6 version can kick some azz and take names!

Just kidding.
My point is that I don't like either of the Shelby products he just introduced. Look at the CS8. That thing has one fuggly looking wing on the back. God that thing is so Godly uggly. Sure, I would love the enging in either of these cars. I just can't stand the way they look on the outside. I don't want plastic all over the car. I don't want irrelevant side scoops on the side of the car. I don't want stickers peeling in five years. I want a Mustang for the original reason it was introduced in the 60's. Great looks and speed if you decided to go with the Cobra addition at an affordable price. Back in the 60's, FORD didn't put this craap all over the car. The only reason the 05 and 06 has been so succesfull is because of the retro look and the power hidden under the hood. For example, I think FORD would lose potential buyers if they would have etched the ugly MUSTANG wording in the bumper like the previous model. HTT understood this and gave us something subtle and simple, but fast. Just like the 60's model. To me, the CS6 and CS8 looks like something out of Battle Star Galatica.
