Round A/C, etc control knobs

Anyone know which site has the round control knobs? The only ones I seem to be able to find are the same style as stock except they are billet, satin, etc, etc.

I saw them in a guys GT500 but didn't get a chance to ask.

those won't fit the 07+ a/c units. 05-06, you can just pull off the knob and slip on a replacement.

these are the only round ones i found in my brief search. the steeda site has them with either the "ford" logo or the "steeda" logo. not sure how they install, but if it is anything like the SHR ones, you have to break off the stock knob.

I think those are exactly what I was looking for. Thanx

Does that dash for the knobs have to be removed to replaced the knobs? I notice they dont just pull off, yet the site says "Installs in seconds". hmmmm

i am pretty sure it has to be broken off. yeah, i noticed it says "installs in seconds". on the steeda website, it says in under 15 minutes...

Break off the knob? That kind of crap almost makes me ashamed to be an engineer.....

colbymh 4/5/10 09:37 AM

Ya im not breaking anything to install something. Piss poor if thats the answer.

yeah, it is a dumb design. don't hold me to it, but i think the other option is to swap out the hvac console for the 05-06 unit, but you will lose the heated seats buttons if you have them. kind of overkill to just dress up the knobs. it has been a while since this whole issue came out, so i may be remembering it wrong.

gotta say that busting off the knobs weren't that big a deal and i really love the way the SHR knobs dress up the controls.

Talked to Steeda. The knobs fit over the stock ones, so no breaking involved.

oh ok cool. that sure simplifies things. but yeah, those are really nice.

'05 Knobs on the ac just straight pull off,no breaking, I took mine off to change out the leds,no problem. I just painted the inside part silver looks ok,will wait and see what it looks like once I get the dash put back together in the car. I've had an concussion and haven't been able to work on car in the last 5 weeks.still getting dizzy.

Sounds like a nasty concussion. What happened?
