Last Friday after work startup car and begin drive home. I go about 100 yards and reach stop sign. When I give it the gas it hesitates for a moment, I then go 10 yards and hit second stop sign. By the time I reach the second stop sign the car is running real rough. It feels like one of the cylinders isn't firing correctly. When I give it the gas it responds very slowly and speed pickup is like I'm back driving a 4 banger...I pull over and check a few things but nothing stands out (I don't turn car off at this time). The dealership is near by and drive car there for them to check out. The next day they begin checking car and it is running fine. They check computer and find nothing, check fuel pump but don't find anything. They reset computer. I've been driving it 4 days now and no re-occurence. It appears that the problem went away with the car being turned off then restarted (computer resetting etc...). Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?

Did the idle go down at all when you started it before you took off? How many miles?
|
The car has 4K miles. When I started car no obvious difference in running performance. Once it started to run rough the idle was lower making it seem like it could stall but it didn't.

I notice that when I start her up and begin to drive immediately, there can be some rough running moments. My car is a 5spd and it exhibits itself by means of some bucking. Once there is about 1 minute or two of run time, it seems to level right out.
Undoubtedly a software issue, probably with the cold start mapping. |
If that is a software issue, will adding a new tune like I have read about for perfomance, help that problem? Or am I way off the mark on how that stuff works?
