Rocker panels - GT500, V6, let's see them!

Has anyone tried swapping out the stock GT rocker panels (painted to match) for the V6 or GT500 rocker panels? Is it a direct-swap? I figured since my GT looks like a base rental V6, I might as well consider completing the look I call it the V6 appearance package, in retaliation for the V6 Mustangs getting the GT spoiler, GT appearance package, and fog lights in the grille.

I swapped panels on my wife's V6 and my GT. They are identical, except color and finish. The upper clips can be reused but the lowers are destroyed upon removal. Be prepared for "sticker shock" when you order new ones at the dealership. I tried AutoZone, Checker, etc., and could not find any long enough....

Are the lower clips christmas tree plugs or something different?

Yep. I can measure one later today if you need. I still have a couple left over.

What have you done to make it look like a V6? front & rear bumpers, grille, etc??

I just put the black rocker panels on my Satin Silver GT. They look good. There's a thread on this going on the External Mods Forum. As Willie says, the lower clips/plugs are not reuseable. You'll need to get new ones from Ford. I tried reusing the old ones, but they just didn't hold.

I'll post some pics as soon as I can. The weather up here in the northwest has been so awful lately I don't feel like taking the car out of the garage. And, the garage is a mess. Maybe I'll get some sun tomorrow.
