Im sure ford made it so the rear seats fold forward like the present ones, but I cant seem to see a split in the seats from the trunk view?

http://bradbarnett.net/mustangs/time...5/05/Trunk.jpg

this may just be a prototype or something. Anyone seen the rear seats at a show, or able to confirm if they fold. I really hope they do. Not that I fill my stang to capacity, but if needs be it really can hold quite a bit. :dunno:

Decipher 4/1/04 04:42 PM

I hope they fold too. I've come to love that feature on other cars and it would be a shame if ford didn't include it in the Mustang package.

stupidgenius36 4/1/04 05:04 PM

I'm pretty sure that they will. I can see the split on that second pic.

ZwerRacing 4/1/04 05:22 PM

ya u can see the split at the top of the pic around the middle at the very very top the pic mush have been shot at a downwards angle

stango63 4/1/04 06:00 PM

The interior pics show a split rear seats. I am sure it folds down

briden 4/1/04 07:03 PM

Yeah, it splits. I saw the rears folded down at the auto show. That trunk shot shows the split at the top. Below that is just a flap of carpet covering up the rest.

stoic21 4/1/04 08:40 PM

yeah i saw it at the la auto show and after the gaurd lady left some guy was messing around in it and he pullled it down. :usa:

I wish there were pics of this phenomenon out there.

This photo shows the split/fold down seats.

jarradasay 4/2/04 01:48 PM

Hey guys thanx for the help. I know the interior shots have the seats split, but that doesnt mean they fold. But if they saw them folded at the show the whooheeew!

Decipher 4/2/04 06:03 PM

Yeah. I really want to see a pic of them folded down. :)

I was at the Show in Houston last night and the seats do fold down.

TampaBear67 4/3/04 08:45 AM

Why would they Split the Seat Back if they didn't fold down? Really? Here look at this!

Boomer 4/3/04 09:53 AM

haha, now I see it. (not the folding part...but the mustang print)

Its got little pony's running in the fabric (pointed out a while ago..just never looked)

wicked

Why would they Split the Seat Back if they didn't fold down? Really? Here look at this!
Simple. Several reasons for this. First and formost is ease of installation. Second less mass to have to move. Large parts are easier to damage and harder to transport. Smaller parts fit through the door openings easier. Leather is cheaper in sections instead of large pieces (if the new mustang doesnt have vinyl rear seats). Anyway, I am glad they fold down. I presumed they did, but in pictures of the trunk it was hard to see a split. Thanks for the help guys.

Wombert 4/5/04 02:42 PM

actually I can't see any split in the trunk... you see the wavy coating at the end of the trunk? if the seats fold forward, you have one plain cover for the whole space inside the trunk, and virtually no ridge which makes loading easier

icwspiker3 4/6/04 12:08 AM

YES THE SEATS FOLD DOWN IN, TO OPEN UP TO GET TO THE TRUNK :peace:

wombert, look at Dave's pic, he's highlited the portion where you can see the split

Decipher 4/6/04 12:41 AM

Doesn't change the fact that I won't believe it until I see it! :nice:
