play walmart wma's on Shaker system?
#1
Anyone here tried to play the wma files downloaded from walmart.com on their Shaker system? I downloaded a utility to convert wma to mp3, but it gives me an error because the files are licensed to my computer. Anyone have any luck? In general, I guess I'm pretty much just asking how to get licensed music files to play on the Shaker.

Get your mp3's at some place like www.allofmp3.com. You will pay less and you will get mp3's to burn to a cd directly. They have other formats if you prefer.

Using windows media player, burn the wmas onto a disk to use a regular music CD. It will let you do this, if you burn though media player, and have the licenses installed on your computer.
then, that the regular music CD you made, and rip it to mp3's.
I've done that a few times. Its worked every time.

:ranting: Confederated Consumers Against Walmart (CCAW) right here.
Anywho, if you are stuck with WMA's the above suggestions work well... Or get an MP3 player that you can connect into the Shaker (so far an FM modulator is the only method proven to work as far as I know).
I buy my music through Realplayer... While it does download in the native realplayer format the Harmony program allows you to change the compression type to any available format out there including MP3, WMA, and now the native iPod format (as well as many other MP3 player proprietary formats). The best part is that there are no monthly fees and it's .99 a song or .49 for featured music and the Rolling Stones Top 10 list.

allofmp3.com averages about .10 a file. I haven't been able to beat that anywhere.

Or you can just covert the WMAs to MP3 and save the CD.

If you have a proven way to convert licensed wma's, please let me know. Although my way works, it is a pain in the hiney.

Anyone have experience using iTunes? I heard the mp3's are locked to the computer you downloaded on though. If you copied the mp3 to a CD, would you be able to play them back on the Shaker?
