Passenger Seat Rattle - adjustment bar area

I have a rattle going over bumps and such from the passenger seat. If I lean over and push down on the seat forward/rear adjustment bar, it goes away.

Been searching around but haven't been able to find an exact answer. Has anyone else had this issue?

If it's a 05 I found the seat skin clip or bar that is suppose to attach the seat skin underneath the seat sometimes comes off when a passenger sits in the seat and it somehow pops it out. It snaps back in to place if you tuck it up and pop it back in, you just have to make sure the whole bar is poped in.

It's an 07 GT500.

I've had this exact problem. When someone was sitting in the seat there was no rattles but everyday to work it would be noisy as hell and really got to me. I took an ax to it - no more noise.

Haha just kidding. What I ended up doing was getting some spongey foam material about 3 inches tall, squished it down and then wedged large chunk under that front rod under the seat and I no longer have any rattles. It's the only solution I've ever seen from a couple of boards over the years unfortunately, but if youre like me, rattles cAn drive you insane. Good luck

Also on a further note to what i did above, I didn't wedge the material directly under the adjustment bar, because you still need to be able to use it, but wedged it off to the side by the rails that the chair slides on. It did take some fumbling around to get it right but no more noises!

I think I may pull the seat out and wrap some foam pipe insulation type material around the bar. Think thin roll bar padding.

Pretty much the only rattle in the car and it drives me up the wall. :banghead:

Gave it a better look today, it looks like the outer edge of the adjustment rod pivots slightly where it connects to the side of the rails. I don't know if this is the design or it has worked loose.

The rattle seems to come from the bar jiggling up and down on it's own. I guess I need to start stuffing the area with something, unless I order up a new part from Ford.
