The long and short of it, I had noticed several small (1/8" or less) "oily" looking spots in my Black paint since picking up my GT Covertible in June. Sometimes they would be more visible, others not, depending on the light. I finally took it to the dealer and they say it's "rail dust" damage and can be buffed out. The surface is otherwise smooth. Obviously they'll cover the striping of all polishes, buffing and re-polishing under warranty but I'm worried about swirl marks in the Black paint. What would you do? Anyone have this done and if so, any issues? Just looking to make an informed decision. Thanks in advance for any input.

I had big time rail dust on my Windveil Blue GT upon delivery, after it spent 3 weeks on a rail car criss crossing the country.

My dealer did a beautiful job cleaning it with clay bar then waxing it. No swirls on WB, not certain about black but I would recommend doing it.

Jeff, don't sweat it man....... if you don't like how they fix it for you, then make them do it which ever way makes it right. :nice:
