Once again the 3V amazes me

Got a buddy who has an 04 GT with lt's, cai, tuned, gears, and we made a run last night. And I was amazed that I pulled him. And I only have a jlt tuned by Doug, Bassani's, and BMR control arms. :metal:

I figured he was making about 280-290ish hp, and he weighs less then I do.

at the wheels? there's no way he gained 60rwhp from his mods man...

I'm sure he meant crank hp. With 260 stock, 20-30hp increase would be about normal for those mods on that car. the cai/tunes did not do as much on the older stangs as the 05+ models.

Kick A$$!!! :metal:
I am amazed every time I go racing. This little sucker kicks. 12.61 @ 108 NA with very little bolt on stuff is totally amazing! Rock on!

The car really is amazing. You can feel it's power, even when you're not puposely doing it.

Yeah these new ones can definitely hold their own against the last gen even when modded. I raced one of my brother's friend in an 02GT with an intake plenum, CAI, custom tune, low-ratio gears (couldn't tell you what the ratio is), line locks, auto trans shift kit, underdrive pulleys, and performance exhaust (don't know weather is was full or just cat-back), and 275-width Mickey Thompson performance tires (very sticky like pencil eraser). All I had were worn out Pirellis, my Granatelli CAI and CR's 93 Race tune. He definitely got me off the line and through 1st gear, I caught up and kept pace though 2nd, but in 3rd I finally pulled ahead (more top end I guess) and by 4th or 120mph I was 2 car lengths ahead and then the race was over. This was the only time I've ever had a real race (with a more or less equal car on either side of the performance spectrum) and I was pleasantly surprised with what I could do against a heavily modded car like that.
